It's best not to use the phrase "artificial" contraception.
This sets up a false dichotomy with "natural" family planning. The Church does not teach against artificial contraception, because it's "artificial", and for NFP because its' natural.
But because all artificial means of birth control are either "contraceptive or abortifacient".

Just call it what it is "contraception", or to "act against the beginning of life." On the flip side a better expression for NFP I think is FAM: fertility awareness method, because (NFP) it is about awareness and appreciation, not an act against the beginning of life.
