Founded in 1948, ICCB/BICE defends children's dignity and their higher interests; it promotes their unconditional rights as persons, regardless of culture, nationality or religion. By combining research, advocacy and preventive action, in more than 35 countries ICCB/BICE helps children who are exploited sexually or by work, children in the street or in prison, children affected by war, as well as disabled children.

Catholic Medical Mission Board
CMMB makes health care available to victims of poverty in developing and transitional countries. It provides funding for pharmaceuticals and health care supplies, placement of volunteer professional health care workers, emergency and disaster relief, and short-term health-related training. CMMB is working globally to prevent mother-to-child transmission (PMTCT) of HIV and provide pediatric care and treatment to children infected with AIDS.

Catholic Relief Services
The international charity cosponsored several five-day summer camps in southern Lebanon aimed to alleviate the psychological impact of the war on its children. CRS has many other programs world wide to reduce child mortality and promote maternal and child health, including immunizations in the developing world against: measles, diphtheria, whooping cough, polio tetanus, and tuberculosis.

Caritas for Children
Dedicated to improving the lives of those children who are either orphaned or abandoned worldwide, Caritas for Children has formed an alliance with Catholic Charities to establish an international adoption service. Programs involve sponsorship of a single child or support for many children in orphanages abroad.
