Coverage of the 2017 Supreme Convention
The 135th Knights of Columbus Supreme Convention will be broadcast by four popular Catholic media outlets. Live coverage will be provided by the Eternal Word Television Network (EWTN), Canada’s Salt and Light Television, and Boston-based CatholicTV. SiriusXM Radio’s The Catholic Channel will also broadcast from the convention site, America’s Center Convention Complex in St. Louis.
The three television networks will carry the events on opening day, Tuesday, Aug. 1, and all the convention Masses. Coverage will begin at 9:30 a.m. CDT with the Opening Mass, celebrated by Archbishop Robert Carlson of St. Louis. The convention’s Opening Business Session, featuring Supreme Knight Carl Anderson’s annual report, begins at 1 p.m. CDT and the States Dinner with keynote address by Cardinal Daniel DiNardo of Galveston-Houston, starts at 7 p.m.
The Mass on Wednesday, Aug. 2, to be celebrated by Cardinal Donald Wuerl of Washington, with homily by Cardinal Sean O’Malley, O.F.M. Cap., of Boston, begins at 8 a.m. CDT, as does the Memorial Mass on Thursday, Aug. 3, to be celebrated by Supreme Chaplain Archbishop William Lori of Baltimore.
Streaming coverage will be available on each network’s website.
Two regular satellite radio programs from The Catholic Channel will originate from the convention city: Conversation with Cardinal Dolan (Tuesday at 1 p.m. CDT) and Busted Halo (Monday and Tuesday at 6 p.m. CDT).
