K of C Films Win Emmys
Two Knights of Columbus produced documentary shorts were recognized at the 59th annual Chicago/Midwest Emmy Awards.
The red carpet event, which honors regional Emmy winners in a wide range of broadcast and craft categories, was hosted by the Chicago/Midwest Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences. The winning films were produced for World Youth Day 2016 in Krakow and were featured at the Mercy Centre, the Knights of Columbus-sponsored international English-language catechetical and youth festival site at the Tauron Arena Kraków. The Mercy Centre held the largest World Youth Day gatherings outside of the papal events.
The Emmys were awarded in the following categories. Outstanding Achievement for Interview/Discussion Programming The Testimony of Fr. Donald Calloway Outstanding Achievement for Human Interest Programming Program/Special/Series/Segment Witness of Mercy: The Story of Jennifer Trapuzzano
Supreme Knight Carl Anderson was honored with two Emmy awards for serving as executive producer on the documentaries. The videos were produced by David Naglieri, producer and media manager for the Knights of Columbus and Chicago-based Spirit Juice Studios who were also honored with Emmys.
