Pope Greets Supreme Knight
Supreme Knight Carl Anderson was among the participants in the Vatican’s Council for the Laity’s 28th Plenary Assembly recently held in Rome.
Supreme Knight Anderson has served on the Pontifical Council for the Laity since 2002, having first been appointed by Pope John Paul II. His appointment was renewed for additional terms by Pope Benedict XVI, and in 2014 Pope Francis, appointed him to an additional term.
During the meeting, Supreme Knight Anderson and the other council members discussed the history and accomplishments of the Pontifical Council for the Laity, and the mission for the new dicastery for laity, family and life.
“We need well-formed lay people, animated by a sincere and clear faith, whose life has been touched by the personal and merciful love of Christ Jesus,” Pope Francis told the plenary, as reported by the Catholic News Service.
