Trees That Give Back

Hall For All
Members of Rantoul (Ill.) Council 4450 present a $35,000 check to Father Joel Phelps, pastor of St. Malachy Catholic Church, to support the church’s capital campaign for a new meeting hall. St. Dominic Hall will feature an accessible entry to the church, more bathrooms and a new meeting space in anticipation of the church’s 125th anniversary celebration in December 2026.

Jambalaya Jubilation
Craig Condon of St. Dominic Council 3729 in New Orleans serves jambalaya to a priest during a reception at St. Dominic Parish following vespers on the eve of Coadjutor Archbishop James Checchio’s Mass of Welcome to the Archdiocese of New Orleans. More than 500 people attended vespers, including more than 100 bishops, priests and deacons.

Advent Kickoff

Mass And Meals
Father Ernesto Panelo, parish priest at Our Lady of Miraculous Medal Chapel and a member of Holy Family Council 6071 in Mandaluyong City, Luzon North, celebrates a street Mass for the community. Afterward, the council organized a food distribution at Maria Mahal na Ina ng Awa Mission Church, giving rice, bread, water and snacks valued at about 10,000 PHP (about $170) to 100 families. The council organizes food distributions at least twice a year.

Hearts Ablaze
Knights from various councils in France carry a reliquary containing relics of St. Margaret Mary Alacoque during a torchlight procession at the Basilica of the Sacred Heart of Paray-le-Monial during the jurisdiction’s annual retreat in late November 2025. The retreat, which marked the 350th anniversary of the apparitions of the Sacred Heart of Jesus to St. Margaret Mary, included prayer and talks by speakers such as Bishop Jean Laffitte, prelate of the Knights of Malta.

Supporting Their ‘Yes’
Members of Perrysburg (Ohio) Council 7978 present a $14,000 check to Bishop Daniel Thomas (left) of Toledo and diocesan vocations director Father David Kidd after the annual diocesan seminarian Mass and brunch at Our Lady, Queen of the Most Holy Rosary Cathedral. The proceeds were distributed among the diocese’s seminarians for personal expenses. Over the past 13 years, the council has donated $112,000 to seminarians through the Order’s Refund Support Vocations Program (RSVP).

McGivney Moments
Fourth Degree Knights from Queen of Angels Assembly 2191 in Wexford, Pa., provide an honor guard during a Votive Mass of Blessed Michael McGivney at St. Anthony Chapel in Pittsburgh. David Pasquale, a member of the assembly and Father Joseph P. Newell Council 11838 in Cranberry Township, Pa., arranged for a second-class relic of Father McGivney — a fragment of the cassock he was buried in — to be obtained and placed at the chapel, home to the second-largest relic collection in the world with more than 5,000 relics. The Mass was celebrated by Father Nicholas Vaskov, shrine director, and state chaplain Father Pierre Falkenhan.

Rosary Blessings
Members of La Fourche Council 1114 in Thibodaux, La., present rosary booklets to Courtney Branson, religion teacher, and middle school students at St. Joseph Catholic Elementary School. The council donated 100 Our Blessed Mother’s Rosary booklets, featuring a Scripture verse for each Hail Mary, which are used in religion classes for grades five through seven.

Seminarian Investment
Knights from St. Christopher Council 4788 in Edmonton, Alberta, present a CA$200,000 check to Father Sylvain Casavant, rector of St. Joseph Seminary and a brother Knight, to support the Foundation of St. Joseph Seminary and Newman Theological College. The proceeds — from the sale of the council’s home corporation building — were used to start a scholarship fund for seminarians.

Heart Of Christmas

Fourth Degree Knights from Msgr. Schulte Assembly 492 in Dearborn, Mich., provide an honor guard for a Mass and memorial service at Sacred Heart Parish honoring members of Father Patrick O’Kelley Council 3860 who have died. Every year, a chalice engraved with the names of deceased Knights from the previous year is presented to a priest. The 2025 recipient was Father Pat Bruen, a newly ordained priest and brother Knight, whose father’s name was included on the chalice. About 300 people attended the liturgy.

A Holy Can-tribution

Legacy Of Giving

Protecting Our Lady

The council designed and built the grotto to protect a statue of Mary at the request of Father Caroli Shao, pastor and a member of the council. Council members spent about eight hours filling a trailer with weeds, branches and other debris during the councils’ cleanup day.
Final Jubilee Celebration
St. Daniel Council 11725 in South Mountain, Ontario, organized a Jubilee Year 2025 celebration at St. Daniel the Martyr Church. About 60 people attended the event, which included Eucharistic adoration, discussion groups, confessions, Mass and the opportunity to walk through a replica Holy Door.
Saintly Inspiration
Bel Air Council 4714 in Forest Hill, Md., commissioned two statues of St. Carlo Acutis for St. Margaret of Scotland Church and St. Mark Roman Catholic Church. The council spent $1,500 on the statues, which are housed in the parishes’ youth centers.
Candlelight Remembrance
Father Joe Balzer Council 12943 in Indian Head, Saskatchewan, organized a candlelight service and memorial Mass at St. Joseph Catholic Church for all members of the council who have died. Father Francis Hengen, pastor and council chaplain, celebrated the Mass; afterward, there was a time of fellowship and refreshments.
Keep Christ In Christmas
Members of Father John S. Nelligan Council 5730 in Scotch Plains, N.J., installed a Christmas crèche at the Fanwood railroad station, after which it was blessed by Father Mike Ward, pastor of Immaculate Heart of Mary Church and council chaplain. Knights have erected the Nativity scene for the past three years and installed two “Keep Christ in Christmas” banners at Immaculate Heart of Mary.
Building The Church
Father Bonner Council 7599 in Edmonton, Alberta, raised more than CA$53,000 through fundraisers and individual donations over five months to support the building of a church for Divine Mercy Parish in Edmonton.
Clergy Care
Members of Father Patrick O’Kelley Council 3860 in Dearborn, Mich., cooked and served a turkey meatloaf dinner to 12 priests at Senior Clergy Village, a community home for retired priests. The council has organized these dinners for about seven years, currently serving the priests every other month.
Honoring Our Lady Of Fatima
St. Maximilian Kolbe Council 8762 in Pismo Beach, Calif., organized its 13th annual Rosary for Our Lady of Fatima event at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church. About 45 people attended, and the Knights — inspired by the country where the Fatima apparitions occurred — provided a Portuguese luncheon afterward.
Advent Vespers
Lewistown (Mont.) Council 1508 coordinated the praying of vespers at St. Leo the Great Catholic Church each Sunday night of Advent. Father Matt Solarz, pastor and council chaplain, led the evening prayer each night; afterward, participants gathered for fellowship and refreshments in the church hall.
Classroom Makeover
Monsignor Lang Council 1039 in Defiance, Ohio, donated $5,000 to support basement renovations at St. Michael’s Ridge Parish. The renovations helped transform the space, which is used for the children’s faith formation program, into a more welcoming area.
Faith Across Borders
Father George Fangauer Council 5168 in Duncan, Okla., gave 1,000 rosaries to Father Oby Zunmas, pastor of Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church and a brother Knight, to distribute to people in his home country of Nigeria.

Filling Stockings, Sharing Joy

Serving The Community
Knights from St. Joseph Council 12941 in Biddeford, Maine, prepare food for the council’s free community Thanksgiving dinner. About 900 dinners were served and delivered to people in need. Leftover food was donated to Saco Meals Program and Seeds of Hope, a homeless shelter.

Nativity On Parade
Knights from Corpus Christi Council 12830 in Wheeling, W.Va., construct a float for the city’s Christmas parade. The Knights have undertaken the project for several years, and this year’s theme was Keep Christ in Christmas. The float featured a live Nativity scene with students from Corpus Christi School.
Roof Restored
Knights from Pope John XXIII Council 5788 in Melfort, Saskatchewan, and their family members spent a week replacing the 25-year-old roof at Melfort Food Bank. The council spent more than CA$6,000 to cover the project. The Knights have supported the food bank since 2001, with members preparing weekly food baskets and helping with maintenance at the building as needed.
200 Families Served
More than 100 volunteers from St. Joseph Council 4599 in Marietta, Ga., and St. Joseph Catholic Church’s Society of St. Vincent de Paul packed 200 Thanksgiving food boxes to distribute to families in need in the area. More than 8 tons of food were donated by parishioners and purchased through the Atlanta Community Food Bank.
Yearly Drive, Lasting Impact
St. John the Baptist Council 14898 in Longmont, Colo., organized a food drive at local grocery stores to support St. John the Baptist Food Bank, collecting nearly 10,000 pounds of food and more than $1,500 in cash donations. Since 2013, the council’s drives have generated nearly 73,000 pounds of food and $13,000 for the food bank.
Bountiful Harvest
Father Bach–Brother Angel de Santa Cruz Council 14139 in Tucson, Ariz., organized its annual Thanksgiving food drive at Santa Cruz Catholic Church. The Knights worked with church groups and volunteers to help 50 local families in need receive Thanksgiving meals. The council has sponsored this drive for the past six years, collecting about 1,000 pounds of turkey, pie, canned and boxed food and more in 2025.
Projecting Faith
Regina Coeli Council 423 in New York City donated $850 to cover the installation of a new projector at the parish hall of the Shrine and Parish Church of the Holy Innocents. The projector is used for parish events — such as lectures and family movie nights — throughout the year.
Meals For Moms
Temple (Texas) Council 3444 donated food to provide more than 40 Thanksgiving dinners to residents of Our Lady of the Angels Maternity Shelter. The Knights have been providing this service for about 25 years.
‘Deck The Highway’
For the 10th year, Father Jacob Post Council 14464 in Bath, Pa., sponsored a Keep Christ in Christmas billboard along Route 512 North. The sign was displayed throughout December.
Feeding Families Together
Knights from Potomac Council 9259 in Triangle, Va., and Father Capodanno Council 11958 in Quantico and their family members assembled and delivered more than 50 boxes of food to local families in need for Christmas through the Food for Families program. The food was purchased by Council 9259, with donations from Knights and parishioners. Both councils have helped with this project for the past 35 years.
Victory Dinner
Immaculate Conception Council 14962 in Columbus, Ohio, sponsored a pizza dinner at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church to celebrate three Bishop Watterson High School state championship teams: girls cross country, boys soccer and football. Each athlete received a K of C rosary from the council.
Thanksgiving Served
Members of Father Joseph Boehr Council 4753 in Tiverton, R.I., worked with St. Theresa Parish and Greater Fall River Food Pantry to prepare and serve more than 150 meals on Thanksgiving at the parish hall. Past Grand Knight Steve Mello and his wife have been lead organizers of this event for the past 10 years.
Santa’s Feast
Bayou des Glaises Council 2972 in Moreauville, La., hosted a Breakfast with Santa at Sacred Heart Catholic School for about 150 parishioners. Guests enjoyed pancakes, sausage and a visit with Santa.
Meals For Miles
St. Anne Council 10221 in Gorham, Maine, donated more than $8,100 to four local food pantries: Standish Food Pantry, Buxton Community Cupboard, Buxton Food Co-op and Gorham Food Pantry. The proceeds, which came from the council’s 5K run, were divided evenly among the pantries. Nearly 80 runners participated.
Holiday Hope
Holy Infant Council 10794 in Ballwin, Mo., donated $2,000 and five hams for families in need to the food pantry operated by St. Wenceslaus Church in St. Louis. The council also raised more than $1,200 for charity by selling hams, turkeys and other goods at Holy Infant Church.
Casting Out Hunger
Bishop Ruocco Council 9275 in Chelmsford, Mass., donated more than 1,600 cans of tuna and $3,000 in gift cards to Lazarus House Ministries, a nonprofit in Lawrence that serves families experiencing poverty, homelessness or food insecurity.
Raising The Steaks
Napoleon (Ohio) Council 1344 organized a steak dinner fundraiser at St. Augustine Parish, raising nearly $1,800 for the Society of St. Vincent de Paul. The council has supported the organization for more than 20 years, donating more than 240 cases of food in that time from member donations and its annual Lenten food drive.
A Merry Gesture
Tomas Tenorio Council 10835 in Moriarty, N.M., donated more than $1,000 to the local Society of St. Vincent de Paul conference. The donation was used to provide $50 Christmas food vouchers to families in need to help offset paused government assistance.

Student Support

The council has manned the stand for about 20 years, raising $52,300 for its programs — including ASAP (Aid and Support After Pregnancy) and Refund Support Vocations Program (RSVP) — in 2025. Recently, the council donated more than $5,000 to Alpha Center, Inc., a pregnancy resource center, which received an additional $400 from the Supreme Council through ASAP.

Comfort in Every Pair

Past Grand Knight Bill Shustowski Jr. of Our Lady, Queen of Peace Council 11680 in New Port Richey, Fla., presents coats to Leona Wells, a managing director at Metropolitan Ministries East Pasco. The council spent nearly $8,000 to purchase more than 500 coats through the Knights of Columbus Coats for Kids program, which the Supreme Council matched, resulting in more than 1,000 jackets distributed in 2025. The coats were distributed to children in foster care in Pasco County, including at local schools.
Honoring Bravery
Bishop Fenwick Assembly 100 in Norwalk, Conn., partnered with American Legion Post 12 to organize a veterans appreciation dinner at the post’s facility. The Knights provided a color guard for the event and prepared and served dinner to 130 guests.
Italian Heritage Festival
Members of St. Vincent Pallotti Council 14535, St. Joseph Assembly 3502 and the Maryland State Council supported the annual Italian Heritage Festival in Towson, providing a color guard for the opening ceremonies. State Deputy Anthony Salvemini was the event’s keynote speaker. Proceeds from the festival benefited local charities.
Thanking Heroes
Escalante Council 1136 in Orem, Utah, organized its annual veterans and first responders appreciation event at St. Francis of Assisi Church. Knights served nearly 200 meals to veterans, first responders and their family members, and presented dog tags to guests in acknowledgment of their service. The event raised more than $1,400 for the council’s church mortgage fund and other programs.
Sweet Deliveries
Members of St. Francis of Assisi Assembly 3552 in Raleigh, N.C., deliver doughnuts donated by a local shop to nonprofits in the area six days a week. Organizations served include Salvation Army of Wake County, Shepherd’s Table Soup Kitchen and The Women’s Center of Wake County, which provides housing for women experiencing homelessness.
Veteran Luncheon
St. Louis (Mo.) Council 453 helped sponsor the annual South City Veterans Day Luncheon. The council contributed $250 to support the event, and Knights waited tables and greeted veterans at the door. The Knights have helped with the event for the past 15 years.
Disaster Response
San Salvador Council 1 and Hon. W. Patrick Donlin Assembly 2459 in New Haven, Conn., each donated $500 to St. James Council 8947 in Cebu, Visayas, to support relief efforts following Typhoon Tino, which caused more than 250 deaths and displaced hundreds of thousands. The proceeds helped provide food and supplies for about 250 families.
Korean War Tribute
Christopher Columbus Assembly 2272 in Edgemere, Md., organized a ceremony honoring Korean War veterans that included the presentation of colors, recitation of the Pledge of Allegiance, the U.S. national anthem, a wreath-laying and Benediction.
Aid for Ukraine
St. Nicholas Byzantine Ukrainian Council 7659 in Calgary, Alberta, worked with St. Stephen Protomartyr Parish and Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Parish to donate CA$11,000 to K of C relief efforts in Ukraine. Knights in Ukraine used the proceeds to purchase food, clothing and gifts, which were then shipped to councils in five regions of the country. Sister Servants of Mary Immaculate distributed gifts sent to their convents to about 150 orphans and children in need.
Wheeling in Worship
Knights from Father John S. Nelligan Council 5730 in Scotch Plains, N.J., and Father Francis Koch Council 6343 in West Milford, N.J., assist disabled veterans in attending Mass on the first Sunday of every month at Lyons VA Medical Center. The Knights push the veterans in wheelchairs to the cafeteria for Mass and back to their rooms afterward.
Tree-mendous Help
Parishioners of St. Edward the Confessor Parish could not leave their home after heavy winds caused a tree to fall in front of it. In response to a call from Grand Knight Jerry Burns, Knights from Twin Falls (Idaho) Council 1416 spent Christmas Eve and Dec. 26 removing more than 6,700 pounds of the tree in eight hours.
Pajama Party for Veterans
St. Isaac Jogues Assembly 649 in Fairfield, N.J., and the youth group at St. Peter Church organized their annual pajama drive for patients at the East Orange and Lyons VA medical centers. The drive raised more than $12,500 to purchase more than 500 pairs of pajamas.
Volunteer Fuel
Members of Thomas P. Shields Assembly 2370 in Harker Heights, Texas, served food and drinks to more than 2,000 volunteers who helped lay about 18,000 wreaths during Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery’s wreath-laying ceremony. The assembly provided more than 280 breakfast burritos, 15 gallons of hot chocolate and 25 gallons of coffee and collected a $300 freewill donation to support future wreath-laying events.
Charity’s Helpers
Allouez Council 658 in Rock Island, Ill., helped raise more than $1,500 for the Salvation Army, including a $250 donation from the council.
Hospital Helpers
Pro Patria Council 751 in New York City raised more than $7,100 for Calvary Hospital. The council has supported the hospital for more than 40 years, with donations totaling over $62,000.
Yuletide Visits
Knights from Father Jeremiah O’Callaghan Council 3659 in Inver Grove, Minn., visited four local nursing homes at Christmas with a Knight dressed as Santa — a 30-year tradition. During the visits, Knights gave apples and chocolate to residents and serenaded them with Christmas carols.
On Target
All Saints Council 12780 in Turlock, Calif., hosted its annual trap shoot contest at Waterford Sportsman’s Park. More than 50 people participated, raising $6,000 for All Saints University Parish and community programs, including Turlock Health and Pregnancy Center, Community Continuum College and Community Outreach.
Reboot Recycling
Members of Tabernacle (N.J.) Council 8733 helped a women’s group at Holy Eucharist Parish organize its e-waste collection, which brought in more than 3 tons of televisions, computer equipment, microwaves and other items.
Serving Those Who Served
Knights from St. Francis of Assisi Assembly 3552 in Raleigh, N.C., served more than 110 veterans and guests during the assembly’s annual Veterans Appreciation Breakfast. The event included the playing of anthems from different military branches, a guest speaker and a ceremony honoring each veteran for his or her service. Members of St. Luke the Evangelist Council 12455 helped prepare food for the breakfast.
Bundled Up in Beatrice
Beatrice (Neb.) Council 1723 organized a Knights of Columbus Coats for Kids distribution. Knights handed out 300 coats to children and their families and distributed another 200 to schools, pregnancy resource centers and foster care homes in the area.
Black Friday Giving
The Texas State Council organized two Knights of Columbus Coats for Kids distribution events in the Archdiocese of San Antonio on Black Friday. The effort involved 20 councils and provided more than 2,000 coats to people in need.

Small Change, Big Impact
Grand Knight Steven Kolenda (center) and Financial Secretary Jason Bargenquast of Sacred Heart of Jesus Council 13641 in Grand Rapids, Mich., present a $2,900 check — proceeds from the council’s annual Baby Bottle Boomerang — and coats to Paula Veneklase, director of HELP Pregnancy Aid. The council donated two cases of coats through the Knights of Columbus Coats for Kids program. An additional $400 donation was made by the Supreme Council through the ASAP (Aid and Support After Pregnancy) program.

Knights for Life

Pro-life Prayers

Knights from Cathedral of St. Catharine of Siena Council 14397 in Allentown, Pa., present a donation of nearly $1,900 to Mark Napierkowski, development director at Mercy School for Special Learning, and students. The council has supported the school since 2018, with donations totaling more than $7,100.

Empowering Gifts
Members of Iowa Great Lakes Council 5043 in Spirit Lake, Iowa, present a $2,500 check — raised from the council’s annual fund drive for people with disabilities — to Special Olympics coach Paula Gomez and Special Olympics athletes. An additional $2,500 was given to Hope Haven, an organization that provides services for people with disabilities.

Serving Up Charity
Members of St. Leonard Council 11752 in Ottawa, Ontario, serve food during the council’s pro-life fundraiser dinner at St. Leonard Parish Hall. About 65 people attended and raised more than $1,700, which was divided among five pro-life organizations. Through the ASAP program, the Supreme Council gave an additional $300 to Miriam Centre, a pregnancy resource center, and $100 to the Sisters of Life.

Life’s Safe Haven
Knights from Our Lady of Sorrows Council 12149 in Valparaiso, Ind., and staff members from the South Haven Fire Department stand beside a newly installed Safe Haven Baby Box at the fire station. Purposeful Pierogi
Members of Father John Rocus Council 7891 in Brighton, Mich., package homemade pierogi at Holy Spirit Catholic Church. The council’s fundraiser raised $1,000 for the Pregnancy Help Clinic in Brighton, and an additional $200 was donated by the Supreme Council through the ASAP program.

United Front

‘Game On’ for Giving

The council has organized the fundraiser for more than 20 years.

Rock and Raise
Father Francis J. Fee Council 7750 in Lindstrom, Minn., organized a Billy Joel and Elton John tribute concert, raising $4,300 for Holy Family Catholic Adoption Agency. The council has donated more than $7,000 to the agency over the past five years.
Diaper Donations
York Council 1530 in Dallastown, Pa., collected nearly 6,000 diapers and 9,600 wipes during its diaper and wipes drive to support Human Life Services, a pregnancy resource center. The council also purchased eight new TVs for Misericordia Nursing and Rehabilitation Center and collected 2,250 pairs of socks for Mr. Sandy’s Homeless Veterans Center.
Lifesavers in Action
Since 2020, St. Albans (Vt.) Council 297 has partnered with the American Red Cross to organize more than 120 blood drives, collecting more than 3,400 units of blood. The council sponsors two to three drives each month, hosting its most recent one at American Legion Post 1 and collecting more than 33 pints.
Coins that Count
St. Agnes Council 14202 in Naples, Fla., and its women’s auxiliary group organized a baby bottle drive over two weekends at St. Agnes Catholic Church. More than $25,000 — including a $200 donation from three siblings at the parish who sold their Halloween candy — was collected to help purchase a mobile ultrasound vehicle for Community Pregnancy Center, which operates five clinics in the area.
Special Olympics Boosters
Onawa-Blencoe (Iowa) Council 6249 organized its annual fund drive for people with disabilities, raising $1,000. The proceeds were donated to Special Olympics Iowa and Trivium Life Services, a nonprofit that provides services for people with disabilities.
Double the Impact
St. John’s Council 10901 in Oxford, Miss., raised about $30,000 to help purchase an ultrasound machine for Oxford Pregnancy Center. The Supreme Council matched the council’s donation through the Ultrasound Initiative to fully fund the machine, which was later blessed by Father Mark Shoffner, pastor of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church and a brother Knight.
Quarterly Care
For the past three years, Monmouth (Ill.) Council 1496 has partnered with Immaculate Conception Catholic School and ImpactLife to host quarterly blood drives at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Since then, more than 300 pints of blood have been collected, helping as many as 900 people.
Blood Drive Champions
Corpus Christi Council 12960 in Lawrence, Kan., partnered with the Community Blood Center to organize a blood drive at Corpus Christi Catholic Church, which collected more than 30 units of blood. The council has organized two drives each year for more than 10 years, collecting nearly 500 units of blood in that time.
Annual Support
St. Francis Council 8110 in Belmond, Iowa, organized its annual fund drive for people with disabilities, which raised $5,000 for several organizations, including Special Olympics Iowa and Access Inc., which provides services for people with disabilities. The council has held the fundraiser since 1974, averaging about $4,000 annually.
