Youth-Oriented Programs for Squires

In this Month's Issue 'Squires Newsletter'
The July issue  of "Squires Newsletter" features articles on evaluating your circle, setting a program calendar for the new fraternal year, a new feature called "In the Spotlight" that highlights outstanding circles, and Squires in Action reports!

iPod Recruitment Incentive!
During each quarter of this year a drawing will be held for 2 iPod Classic players. The first drawing will be held in April 2008 to cover the period of January 1 to March 31. To be eligible for the drawing, a Squire must be listed as proposer on a  newly recruited member's Squires Membership Document (#280) that was submitted during the previous quarter. An entry is made into the drawing each time a Squire recruits a new member and is listed on his membership document as the proposer. Each of the iPods has 80 gig with a 2.5 inch screen and holds up to 20,000 songs/25,000 photos/100 hours of video.

Honoring the Pope
All Squire investiture ceremonies through the end of the 2007-08 fraternal year should be held in honor of Pope Benedict XVI. Candidates will receive a commemorative papal visit certificate (#9706). Use this certificate template  when completing certificates for your new members. Fill in the proper information and then print the completed certificate on your computer's printer.

Squire Advancement Program
The Squire Advancement Program, moving into its second year, has the goal of  recognizing and rewarding each Squire for acquiring the skills and attitudes of Catholic leadership.

Through the structure of the Squire Advancement Program, each Squire has the opportunity to attain the program's five levels of achievement  – Page, Shield Bearer, Swordsman, Lancer, and Squire of the Body of Christ – through learning and mastering certain activities that will help him develop as leader.

To advance from one level to another, a Squire needs to accomplish a number of activities in the areas of "Home and Family," "Squires and Knights," "Community and Country," and "Church."

The accompanying PowerPoint presentation  explains the basics of the Squire Advancement Program.

Circles needing additional materials for the Squire Advancement Program may order them in reasonable quantities from the Supreme Council Supply Department.
