125th Supreme Council Meeting

Greetings to the 125th Supreme Council Meeting held Aug. 7-9, 2007, in Nashville, Tenn., from President Frank Wightman and Secretary General Niall M. Kennedy of the International Alliance of Catholic Knights.

Supreme Knight and Dear Brother Carl,

One hundred and twenty five years ago your founder, Servant of God Father Michael McGivney had a vision which not only had an immediate effect on the lives of many Catholics of his day but has also reverberated around the world in the ensuing years. Such vision is seen only rarely and manifests itself in people of deep Faith, people like Father McGivney.

The Knights of Columbus have been, and continue to be, at the forefront of Catholic Action throughout these years. Your dedication to Social Justice, Faith Formation and to your members and families in times of greatest need is inspiring. The vision of Father McGivney has inspired men in many countries around the world to follow his example. Similar Fraternal Orders now exist in Ireland, United Kingdom, Belgium, Austria, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Ghana, Nigeria, the Gambia, Uganda, Mauritius, UN and Pakistan with further locations in development.

The Knights of Columbus, together with a few other Orders, were responsible for setting up the International Alliance of Catholic Knights  as a vehicle for the sharing of Faith, of ideas, of service.. On behalf of all the members of IACK we congratulate you on your exemplary service to the Gospels and your leadership.

Sincerely and Fraternally,

Frank Wightman  Niall M. Kennedy KCSG
