On behalf of the National Fraternal Congress of America (NFCA), the Association of America's Fraternal Benefit Societies, we extend fraternal greetings on the occasion of your society's 125th Supreme Convention.
We proudly include the Knights of Columbus among fraternal benefit societies that continue to meet the NFCA's membership standards. We also are proud of your society's impressive numbers that contribute to the fraternal benefit system's $329 billion of life insurance-in-force and its almost 9 million member fraternalists.
We salute the Knights of Columbus' fraternal volunteers for their role in helping to make the fraternal benefit system one of the world's largest volunteer networks. In 2006 alone, NFCA member-societies contributed $369 million to charitable and fraternal programs, and volunteered 75 million hours for community-service projects.
These statistics demonstrate the commitment that fraternals have to those in need and exemplify the true meaning of the NFCAsignature phrase: Joining Hands to Touch Lives. We thank and commend you and your outstanding organization for your contributions.
