St. Raphael Council 6265 in Lehigh Acres treated members of the newly reactivated Royal Palm Circle 2797 to a baseball game between the Fort Myers Miracles and the Sarasota Suns. Eight Squires, their counselors and family members enjoyed the evening and received baseball caps.

St. Dominic Savio Circle 5078 in Parrish hosted a flag retirement ceremony in which 200 worn, torn or soiled U.S. flags were disposed of in a solemn ceremony.

San Pedro de Bautista Council 6116 in Quezon City concluded a dawn procession Sept. 8 on the feast of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary. The procession started at 4 a.m. and passed through the Damayan, Mariblo and Paraiso barrios. Squires from St. Peter Circle 2134 distributed about 100 rosaries to those in attendance. In addition, Council 6116 donated 10 new Bibles to its parish enrichment program.

St. John the Baptist Circle 4154 and Gat. Blas F. Ople Circle 4863, both in Calumpit, were on hand to receive the Asian Youth Day (AYD) cross as it passed through the Diocese of Malolosat Sept. 7. The arrival of the cross was marked by songs, dancing and veneration. The Philippine capital will host the Fifth Asian Youth Day from Nov. 20-27.

St. Peter's Circle 5263 in Winnipeg served food to needy members of the community at the Immaculate Conception soup kitchen. Squires served chili to more than 200 people, which was paid for by the circle's sponsoring council, St. Peter's Council 12319.

Father Leo Anctil Circle 5211 in Coventry hosted a yard sale that raised nearly $700. Half of the funds will be donated to charity, while the other half will be used to offset circle operations. Squires also participated in a living rosary at Christ the King Church Oct. 4.

St. Benedict Council 9056 and Pope John Paul II Circle 5188, both in Virginia Beach, organized an Italian festival fundraiser to benefit St. Gregory the Great School. More than 600 people attended the event, which raised approximately $3,300 to purchase SMART Boards for the school.

Members of Sum-Ag Circle 4651 in Bacolod City parse out hot rice soup and bread to undernourished children. Squires undertook the feeding program at Purok Sañto Niño, an impoverished community that is home to many needy families.
