Immediate Past State Deputy Robert Read of Ocala received the Governors Point of Light award at a Knights of Columbus Fourth Degree exemplification in Coral Springs Aug. 18. The Point of Light award is presented to a Florida resident who demonstrates exemplary volunteerism. The Supreme Council is a Leadership Sponsor of the national Points of Light award program.
Blessed Sacrament Assembly in Clermont provided an honor guard for a Mass celebrated by Archbishop Kelvin E. Felix of Castries, St. Lucia in the West Indies. Archbishop Felix is a member of Immaculate Conception Council 13875 in Castries.
Pensacola Council 778 donated $7,525 to ARC of Pensacola. The money was raised during the councils annual fund drive for people with intellectual disabilities.

Father John Kennedy Council 4913 and St. Augustine Assembly, both in Valdosta, provided partial funding to send a group of 150 World War II veterans to visit the World War II Memorial in Washington, D.C. Each veteran is accompanied by a "chaperone" for the trip to provide care and companionship. St. Augustine Assembly also provided an honor guard for the veterans departure.
Savannah Council 631 held a seminarian dinner that raised more than $4,000 for the Diocese of Savannah office of vocations.
Msgr. Daniel J. Bourke Council 3607 in Albany held a seminarians dinner that raised more than $9,000 for vocations. More than 240 people attended the event, which provides financial aid to the seminarians of the Savannah Diocese.

Edisto Council 6891 in Orangeburg awarded two $500 scholarships to local students attending Clemson University and the University of South Carolina.
George L. Gagnon Council 8182 in Mauldin named six students as winners of this years Father Howard Coughlin Scholarship.
George L. Gagnon Council 8182 in Mauldin held a patriotic "Salute to Our Troops" event to recognize soldiers in all branches of the military as well as local fire and law enforcement officials. Knights decorated St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church with U.S. flags and banners, and provided food for all attendees.

Members of Father Vincent S. Sikora Council 7992 in Burke frame the front wall of a new house in Whitley City, Ky. Council 7992 partners with Appalachia Construction Crew Inc. to build homes for needy families in and around Whitley City. Knights routinely provide financial assistance and volunteer manpower to build the homes, which cost about $25,000-$35,000 each. The new owners are asked to reimburse the material costs in low, interest-free monthly payments.
