Five councils from West Hartford joined forces to host their annual fund drive, which raised $1,100 for several area organizations.

Members of Cargill Council 64 in Putnam participated in the annual Turkey Dip for Muscular Dystrophy on Thanksgiving. Despite a morning temperature of 45 degrees, more than 140 people plunged into Quaddick Pond for the cause, which raised $43,000 for muscular dystrophy research.

Cargill Council 64 in Putnam participated in the annual Northeastern Connecticut Holiday Dazzle Light Parade Nov. 25. Knights accompanied a float that read "Keep Christ in Christmas" and that featured a traditional Christmas crèche.

Parishioners and others shop for mums during a sale hosted by Our Lady of Fatima Council 4122 in Rockville. Knights sponsor the event each year, which funds the council’s Refund Support Vocations Program (RSVP) and its scholarship fund.

Immaculate Heart of Mary Council 4314 in Groton co-sponsored an Oktoberfest benefit with Sacred Heart School. Our Lady of Perpetual Help Council 5633 in Niantic provided additional manpower for the event, which raised $1,020 to help defray the school’s operating cost.

Supreme Knight Carl A. Anderson and Dominican Father Jonathan C. Kalisch stand with members of Quinnipiac University Council 14277 in Hamden after the council received its official charter. Father Kalisch is the Quinnipiac University chaplain and a past grand knight of Georgetown University Council 6375 in Washington, D.C.

Edward R. McSweeny Assembly in Natick organized a public rosary to commemorate the anniversary of the apparitions at Fatima. More than 200 people attended the event.

Father O’Doherty Assembly in Haverhill provided an honor guard for Auxiliary Bishop Emilio Alluè of Boston when he celebrated a confirmation Mass at St. Mary Church in Georgetown. Bishop Alluè is a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Council 6411 in New Brunswick, N.J.

Bishop Tyler Assembly in Hyannis provided an honor guard during a public rosary to commemorate the anniversary of the Lourdes apparitions.

John Cardinal Wright Assembly in Oxford provided an honor guard for a public rosary. Knights and other participants marched from St. Joseph Church to a local Nazareth grotto before attending an outdoor Mass.

Mother Theresa Council 79 in Natick held a blood drive that netted 38 pints of usable blood.

Gardner Council 396 donated $4,000 to Rachel Landry for the purchase of two new hearing aids. Landry, who was born with a hearing impairment, had previously received a grant from the Knights to aid with her medical expenses. The hearing aids, which cost about $2,600 each, are not covered by her insurance.

Past Grand Knight Greg Komer of Fairview Council 4044, along with his family and brother Knights, traveled to Poland last Sept. 25-Oct. 6 and met with members of Krakow (Poland) Council 14000. The Knights shared coffee and snacks and exchanged gifts: Council 4044 received a Polish banner while Council 14000 received K of C Massachusetts State Council pins.

Delaney Council 57 in Pawtucket held a ham and bean supper that raised more than $5,100 for Karen Rebello, whose husband was hospitalized.
