Burlington Council 568 donated a $500 supermarket gift certificate to Debbie Fawkes of Oakville. Fawkes lost her home in 2008 when heavy floodwaters swept through the area. After the Red Cross ceased providing meals in Oakville for the numerous volunteers helping rebuild the town, Fawkes took on the task herself but realized she needed help. As a result, Council 568 secured a donation from the Iowa State Council Disaster Relief Fund, which was used to purchase the gift card.
