Volunteers unload a shipment of 100,000 copies of Armed with the Faith (#364) for the Archdiocese for the Military Services, USA. The Order donated 100,000 copies of the Catholic Information Service (CIS) booklet, which is spiral bound and specially designed for use by soldiers in the field. Since 2003, the Knights of Columbus has printed more than half-a-million copies for use by U.S. troops.

In advance of the annual March for Life, American University Council 14465 in Washington, D.C., made pro-life signs to distribute among attendees. On Jan. 22, Knights awoke early to pass out the signs before the march began.

Members of St. John Francis Regis Council 7914 in Hollywood work to correct a recurring drainage problem in the basement of their parish rectory. Knights cut an 18-inch swath around the perimeter of the basement to add a drainage pipe, installed a sump pump, moved and disposed of utility equipment, and poured new concrete when the job was done. Knights saved the parish a good deal of money by performing much of the work themselves.

Fourth Degree Knights from New Jersey District #1 provided an honor guard when Auxiliary Bishop Emeritus Charles J. McDonnell of Newark celebrated Mass at the Veterans Memorial Home in Paramus. The Mass marked the 16th anniversary of the facility's Mass program, which began in 1995. Bishop McDonnell is a member of Ridgewood Council 1736.
Trenton Council 355 held a fundraiser to benefit the Mercer County chapter of the Sunshine Foundation, an organization that fulfills the dreams of children with chronic illnesses or who have been abused. The event raised $700 to send two children with illnesses on a special, one-day vacation to Universal Studios.

Technicians work to install solar panels on the roof of the council hall owned by Sacred Heart Council 2842 in Rochelle Park. Concerned about the environment, and about the energy used by the hall, Knights decided to convert to solar power. The system will pay for itself in an estimated three to five years.

In honor of the 65th anniversary of the end of World War II, Union Council 4504 arranged to have a U.S. flag flown over the USS Arizona memorial in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. The flag was then transported to New Jersey, where it was presented to council veterans at a special ceremony Jan. 17. Twenty-one World War II veterans and their families attended the event, in addition to local resident Thomas Mahoney, who survived the attack on Pearl Harbor in 1941.
Incarnation Council 6364 in Mantua held a clergy appreciation dinner to honor the priests who have served Incarnation Parish throughout the years. Knights presented each priest in attendance with a certificate of appreciation.
St. Mary of the Lakes Council 6520 in Medford, Father John P. Wessel Council 6530 in Marlton and Tabernacle Council 8733 traveled together to the annual March for Life in Washington, D.C. While in Washington, a delegation of Knights also met with congressmen and senators to deliver right-to-life petitions.
Father John P. Wessel Council 6530 in Marlton sold roses at its parish Jan. 16-17 to raise funds for 1st Way of Burlington County, a pregnancy resource center. Proceeds exceeded $1,100.
Mary Immaculate Council 12769 in Secaucus and Msgr. Peter B. O'Connor Assembly in North Arlington held a veterans breakfast to purchase new televisions for the Veterans Memorial Home in Paramus. By teaming with Best Buy stores, Knights were able to purchase nine 19-inch televisions at a discounted price, which were then donated to the home.

In honor of its 100th anniversary, St. Ambrose Council 1463 in College Point donated $1,000 and a commemorative plaque to St. Fidelis Church. The presentation followed a council meeting that reenacted the council's first gathering in 1910.
Members of Holy Innocents Council 3581 in Levittown joined thousands of pro-life supporters at the annual March for Life in Washington, D.C., to mark the 37th anniversary of Roe v. Wade.
Sts. Philip and James Council 12839 in St. James donated $100 to the American Red Cross to aid with relief efforts after a 7.0 earthquake struck Haiti Jan. 12.

Manordale Valley Council 4226 in Murrysville donated $4,000 to Clelian Heights School for Exceptional Children, which provides spiritual, educational, vocational and residential programs for people with intellectual disabilities.
Trinity Council 5825 in Monaca donated $1,000 to the Tres Islas Orphanage in Mazatlan, Mexico, for the purchase of new mattresses and bedding.
