The Knights of Columbus will be featured as Pat Summerall's "Champions of Industry" on the Headline News Network (HLN) Dec. 23. The segment is scheduled to run between 6 and 6:30 p.m. (ET).

The two-minute promotion features Supreme Knight Carl A. Anderson and highlights both the Knights of Columbus insurance program and the volunteer service opportunities available to members and their families. With nearly $50 billion of insurance in force, the Knights of Columbus has achieved the highest possible ratings from the A.M. Best Company and Standard and Poor's, and is a member of the Insurance Marketplace Standards Association.

The "Champions of Industry" piece also highlights the Knights as a "driving force" for good works in thousands of communities. Annually members at all levels of the organization raise and donate to charities of their choosing more than $120 million to charity and contribute more than 60 million hours a year in volunteer service. Among recent initiatives the Knights of Columbus provided a $1 million grant to Special Olympics to cover travel costs to the international games in Dublin for athletes from the U.S., Canada and Mexico. The Knights also donated 2,000 wheelchairs to victims of landmines and others with disabilities in Afghanistan. In early 2004 it will be the financial sponsor of a Vatican concert for peace and reconciliation.
