First-Ever Utah Knight Elected to Board

DALLAS, TX - John P. Wainscott, 54, was elected to the Knights of Columbus Board of Directors today by delegates attending the Catholic lay organization’s international meeting in Dallas. He is the first Knight from Utah to be elected to the board.

Wainscott is an 18-year member of the Knights. He served as head of the 2,500-member Utah Knights of Columbus from 2002 to June 30, 2004. Wainscott becomes a member of the Knights’ 25-member board and will help set policy for the organization. He has been elected for a three-year term.

Wainscott served in the U.S. Army from 1970 until his 1974 honorable discharge with the rank of sergeant. A 1983 graduate of the University of Illinois, Wainscott is director of information systems and technology at ADP in Salt Lake City.

He and his wife Linda are the parents of three children.
