On the Passing of Pope John Paul II

Cardinal James Hickey

Supreme Knight Carl A. Anderson said Cardinal James Hickey, who led the Archdiocese of Washington from 1980 until 2000, was a man of extraordinary faith and ability with an unequivocal commitment to social justice. Cardinal Hickey, a Knight for nearly 50 years, died Oct. 24. In 2000, he received the Order's highest honor, the Gaudium and Spes Award, for outstanding service to Church and society. |
