Next month will commence the Jubilee Year of the Priest, which Pope Benedict XVI announced to correspond with the 400th anniversary of the death of the Curé of Ars, St. John Vianney. During this year, the Holy Father has asked pastors to make “the importance of the priest’s role and mission...more clearly perceived.” To this end, one helpful resource is the Catholic Information Service (CIS) booklet titled Holy Orders and Anointing of the Sick (#117). The booklet, written by philosopher and popular author Peter Kreeft, is part 17 (of 30) in the Luke E. Hart Series, based on the Catechism of the Catholic Church.
