Agency Internship for College Knights

The Agency Internship for College Knights provides career development for students while, at the same time, providing service to a Knights of Columbus general agency. The Agency Internship accomplishes this mission by helping students to obtain work assignments related to and integrated with their academic majors and/or career areas of interest. In addition to learning about the Knights of Columbus organization and agency approach, student interns will develop skills in public speaking, customer service, salesmanship, prospecting, recruiting and selection and running a small business enterprise.

Internship Details and Expectations
College Knights will apply for one of three internship programs – spring semester, summer, or fall semester. Internships will run roughly 8-12 weeks, although the length of each internship and hours will be determined by the local general agent. Students in a semester internship should expect around 15 hours per week and students in a summer internship should expect around 40 hours per week. Student interns will usually work at the location of the general agent’s office site, however, some tasks may require travel off site.

In addition to meeting the standards set forth by the Knights of Columbus and local general agency, it is expected that student interns continue to meet the academic standards set forth by their college or university. Students who do not perform adequately for the agency or at their respective college or university will be dropped from the internship program.
