Hundreds of College Knights Attend 2017 March for Life
Over 500 college Knights participated in the 2017 National March for Life in Washington, D.C., while many others joined in regional marches around the country. College Knights from the University of Notre Dame and Benedictine College marched with the Supreme Council delegation. Other college Knights who came to the March for Life joined the delegations from their schools including Georgetown University, The Catholic University of America, The George Washington University, George Mason University, the U.S. Military Academy, Georgia Tech, John Carroll University, Vanderbilt University, and Pontifical College Josephinum. Students from the University of Mary were asked to lead the March for Life this year and nearly 50 members from University of Mary Council 16402 attended.
The day following the March for Life, Georgetown University Council 6375 hosted the 18th annual Cardinal O’Connor Conference on Life. With the theme, “Working toward a Truly Pro-life Politics,” the conference attracted over 600 attendees, the largest student-led conference on life in the country. While held in conjunction with the March for Life, the Cardinal O’Connor Conference invites speakers who touch on all life issues and invite attendees to engage in dialogue and go back to their campuses to protect the sanctity and dignity of all human life.

Frequently Asked Questions
How do I attend?
College Knights wishing to attend the March for Life will need to arrange their own transportation to and from Washington, D.C. If your school has a Right-to-Life group or Pro-Life club, we encourage you to work with them to coordinate a trip for students. Alternatively, you may be able to attend the March for Life as part of a trip with your diocese. Finally, if you cannot find another group to coordinate a trip with, the council could organize its own trip and invite other Pro-Life students to join.
How do I march with other college Knights and the Supreme Council delegation?
The Supreme Council delegation will meet college Knights behind the stage at the Rally for Life near 15th and Constitution Avenues. This location is closest to the Smithsonian Metro (Orange/Blue Lines).
I plan to march with my school. Is that okay?
Each year, a number of college Knights attend the March for Life with other students from their school. While some Knights march with the college Knights delegation, others prefer to march with their school. Whatever you prefer to do, we ask that you let us know to ensure that marchers who are unable to join the Supreme Council delegation are included in our count for an accurate number of college Knights who participated in the March for Life.
