Four New Board Members Elected
In the Wednesday morning Business Session, four new members were added to the Order’s Board of Directors with the title of supreme director.

The Knights of Columbus announced that it will establish a shrine to Blessed John Paul II in Washington, D.C. The announcement was made during Supreme Knight Carl Anderson’s annual report at the Knights’ 129th International Convention being held in Denver.

Supreme Knight Announces New Initiatives for Knights
In his Annual Report to the 129th Supreme Convention, Supreme Knight Carl A. Anderson highlighted the theme of the gathering – “That the World May Know New Hope” – as he provided details on the enormous levels of charitable and volunteer efforts by the Knights of Columbus around the globe.

Membership Growth is Key
Under the theme “One Member, Per Council ,Per Month,” the Membership Seminar instructed Knights of Columbus state deputies, membership chairmen and other leaders to grow the Order through consistent and organized effort.
New Supreme Secretary, Supreme Treasurer and Asst. Supreme Advocate Appointed
On Monday, Aug. 1, the Board of Directors of the Knights of Columbus appointed Charles E. Maurer Jr., who has served as supreme treasurer since September 2010, as supreme secretary, filling the vacant position left by the late Emilio B. Moure.

Chaplains Take on a Greater Role
The more than 75 bishops and priests who gathered for the Supreme Convention’s Chaplains Meeting on Monday heard an opening address from Supreme Knight Carl A. Anderson about the important role they play in the life of the Order on the state and local levels.
