St. Francis of Assisi Assembly in Sierra Vista provided an honor guard for a special Mass in which Father Ariel Lustan was installed as the new pastor of Our Lady of the Mountains Church. The assembly also provided an honor guard for a parish Fatima procession. The procession was followed by a presentation on the rosary that was attended by Knights, their families and members of the parish community.

Luke E. Hart Council 5565 in Anaheim sponsored a Blue Mass Oct. 13 at St. Anthony Claret Church in honor of area police, firefighters and emergency service personnel. A professional bagpiper led the entrance procession with a performance of "Amazing Grace," followed by a contingent of Boy Scouts and an honor guard from Mission San Juan Capistrano Assembly. Light refreshments followed Mass, though two fire trucks were called away early to respond to an emergency.

Montrose Council 1188 hosted a Special Olympics bowling tournament at Rose Bowl in Montrose Oct. 18. Members of Charles Fedler Sr. Assembly in Delta in full regalia were also on hand to present awards to tournament winners.

St. Pius X Assembly in Oakville provided an honor guard for the wake of Gebrah Noonan, 26, a local soldier who was killed while serving with the U.S. military in Iraq.

Fourth Degree Knights from St. Petersburg look on while Bishop Robert N. Lynch blesses a traveling relic of St. John Bosco outside the Cathedral of St. Jude the Apostle. St. Benedict Council 10633 in Duluth and Father Mychal Judge Assembly in Cumming took part in the dedication of a new family center at St. Benedict Church in Johns Creek. Knights marshaled the parish community to help raise the $1.7 million needed to construct the center, and Council 10633 pledged $100,000 toward its construction (of which $60,000 has already been delivered). The center, which is named for a local family, includes a play area, sports field, picnic pavilion and an outdoor Stations of the Cross.

Father Jim Antiporek (center) looks on as Past Faithful Navigator Raymond Scott of Bishop Romeo Blancette Assembly in Naperville presents a U.S. flag to Principal Maureen White of St. Irene School. St. Irene Council 6710 in Warrenville donated a flag and flagpole to the school in honor of deceased council members. Students and school administrators joined Knights for a dedication ceremony shortly after the start of the academic year.

Holy Rosary Council 4483 in Arlington Heights provided start-up capital and provides ongoing financial assistance to Salute, Inc., an organization that helps to meet the financial, physical and emotional needs of military service members, veterans and their families. With an initial donation of $1,000, Council 4483 has consistently provided funding for Salute, Inc. events, as well as volunteer manpower. Other K of C units, like and St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Assembly, have contributed as well. Since 2004, Salute, Inc. has raised more than $800,000 to aid approximately 200 injured and affected service members and their families.

Motorcycle riders cross the Matthew Welsh Bridge in Brandenburg during the Knights of Columbus Motorcycle Ride for Wednesday's Child sponsored by St. Francis de Sales Assembly in Fairdale. More than 100 motorcyclists participated in the 104-mile ride to raise approximately $3,000 for Wednesday's Child, an organization that helps foster the adoption of children with special needs.

Msgr. Frank Howard Council 6648 and Angelo Battista Assembly, both in Havelock, co-sponsored a chicken Parmesan and spaghetti dinner to benefit Honor Flight, an organization that transports surviving veterans of World War II to see the National World War II Memorial in Washington, D.C. The trips organized by Honor Flight include complimentary flights to and from the national's capital for veterans who otherwise may not be able to visit the memorial in their lifetime. The dinner raised more than $2,100.

Members of Wahpeton Assembly stand with Father Ken Popp and a refurbished statue of St. Francis at the St. Francis Medical Center. The statue was located at the original hospital in 1916 but fell into disrepair due to age and weathering. The statue was refurbished and unveiled for the medical center's 5th anniversary at its current location.

Bishop Victor J. Reed Council 4026 in Oklahoma City and Father George Wagner Assembly in Midwest City provided partial funding for an Eagle Scout project undertaken by Evan. J. Maselli. Maselli collected games, personal care items and neck coolers for U.S. troops serving in Iraq and Afghanistan. With a donation from the Knights, Maselli was able to ship all of the items overseas.

Representatives from English- and French-language K of C units in and around Montreal participated in the feast of San Lorenzo Ruiz at Our Lady of the Philippines Church Sept. 26. More than 35 Fourth Degree Knights in regalia participated in an outdoor procession following Mass, while other Knights, Squires and family members paraded behind the statues of various saints. The Mass and procession were followed by a reception at the parish hall.

Des membres d'unités anglophones et francophones des Chevaliers de Colomb de Montréal et de la région montréalaise ont participé à la Fête de San Lorenzo Ruiz à l'Église Notre Dame des Philippines le 26 septembre dernier. Plus de 35 Chevaliers du Quatrième Degré en tenue du Quatrième Degré ont participé à une procession en plein air après la messe et d'autres Chevaliers, Écuyers et membres de leurs familles ont défilé derrière les statues de différents sains. Après la messe et la procession, il y a eu une réception dans la salle paroissiale.

Squires sponsored a special Mass with the Silver Rose celebrated by Father Jacek Kowal, the circle's father prior.

St. Michael Assembly in Weimar provided an honor guard for Bishop David E. Fellhauer of Victoria at a Mass celebrating the 150th anniversary of St. Mary's Church in High Hill. Bishop Fellhauer is a member of Victoria Council 1329.

Bishop Wendelin J. Nold Assembly in Pearland provided an honor guard for a Mass celebrating the 50th ordination anniversary of La Salette Missionary Brother Roger Clement. Brother Clement is a member of Mary Queen Council 8494 in League City.

Mother Teresa Council 12036 and Pope John Paul II Assembly, both in Charles Town, sponsored a talk by Father Peter West of Priests for Life Sept. 26. At the event, Knights handed out 1,000 rosary rings and "Pray the Rosary to End Abortion" prayer cards. The council also hosted a rosary for life and social so that members of St. James the Greater Parish could meet with Father West.
