Members of St. John the Baptist Council 10232 in Madison stand with "KC the Lion" at the Huntsville Botanical Garden's Fall Hall Bale Art Program. Knights constructed the lion using one circular bale for the head and four bales for the body. The council also reported that KC was one of the most photographed exhibits in the display.

Motorcycle riders cross the Matthew Welsh Bridge in Brandenburg during the Knights of Columbus Motorcycle Ride for Wednesday's Child sponsored by St. Francis de Sales Assembly in Fairdale. More than 100 motorcyclists participated in the 104-mile ride to raise approximately $3,000 for Wednesday's Child, an organization that helps foster the adoption of children with special needs.

Knights hosted more than 150 people with intellectual disabilities for a day of games and activities that included, among other things, horseback rides. More than 700 people from six counties in northern Kentucky attended the event.

Members of St. Mildred Council 14128 in Somerset prepare to hand out school supplies to needy students in their community. With the help of a $2,000 donation from a parishioner and support from Kmart, Knights were able to distribute school supplies to a number of needy families.

John Paul II Circle 5274 in Ownesboro built two park benches to donate to the Gasper River Catholic Youth Camp and Retreat Center. Squires built the benches from scratch for the camp, which is located on 170 acres near Bowling Green.

Marquette Council 1437 in New Orleans volunteered to cook for Family Fest at Church of the Immaculate Conception. Knights manned the grill at the event and also held a membership drive.

St. Dominic Council 3729 in New Orleans sponsored the New Orleans Right to Life annual membership meeting, serving a delicious meal and attracting 150 members. On the evening agenda was a report on Camp Joshua, an educational initiative that prepares high school and college students to spread the gospel of life. Camp Joshua is partially funded by the Louisiana Knights of Columbus and by Right to Life.

Members of St. Joachim Circle 5086 in Bartlett, joined by an honor guard from Deacon Lee R. Hurst Assembly in Memphis, stand with the Knights of Columbus Silver Rose when it passed through their community. Squires sponsored a special Mass with the Silver Rose celebrated by Father Jacek Kowal, the circle's father prior.

Councils from districts #36 and #44 volunteered Sept. 18 at a Habitat for Humanity site in San Antonio. Knights helped to build a new home in the Palo Alto Subdivision.

St. Michael Assembly in Weimar provided an honor guard for Bishop David E. Fellhauer of Victoria at a Mass celebrating the 150th anniversary of St. Mary's Church in High Hill. Bishop Fellhauer is a member of Victoria Council 1329.

Bishop Wendelin J. Nold Assembly in Pearland provided an honor guard for a Mass celebrating the 50th ordination anniversary of La Salette Missionary Brother Roger Clement. Brother Clement is a member of Mary Queen Council 8494 in League City.

Knowing that a group of clergy and laity from east Texas would be visiting Rome on pilgrimage in September, Bishop Charles E. Herzig Council 1502 in Tyler requested 28 free tickets to the Knights of Columbus exhibit at the Musei Capitolini so the group could visit.

Msgr. A. L. O'Connell Council 3700 in Pasadena donated $500 each to the Society of St. Vincent de Paul food pantries at four area churches. The funds will help feed needy members of the community at each parish.

New Braunfels Council 4183 erected a pro-life cross display on a well-traveled community road along with a small billboard that read, "Choose adoption, not abortion."

Members of Good Shepherd Council 6358 in Schertz and their wives volunteered to help build a Habitat for Humanity house in San Antonio.

La Villa del Carmen Council 10434 in San Antonio donated school supplies to Pearce Primary School.

St. Edward Council 10524 in Athens held a spaghetti dinner that raised $1,850 for the local branch of the Gabriel Project. Following the event, an anonymous donor came forward to match the Knights' total contribution.

On Oct. 16, St. John the Evangelist Council 13255 in Marble Falls sponsored a rosary at the public square in its community.
