St. Francis Council 5531 in Lakefield hosted its annual fundraiser Sept. 25, complete with home-cooked food and a bake sale. Proceeds from the event will be used for repairs at the council's hall and parish church.

Bishop Zardetti Council 5548 in St. Cloud donated $6,000 to Place of Hope Ministries, an organization that provides meals, shelter and resources for people facing homelessness. The funds were used to purchase new tables, which will seat nearly 100 people.

Bishop Peter W. Bartholome Council 12822 in Waite Park erected a temporary ramp at the home of Edward Crawford, a council member who damaged a tendon in his right foot and needed a walker to get around.

St. Rose Philippine Duchesne Council 2951 in Florissant raised $9,495 for three area organizations during its annual fund drive for people with intellectual disabilities.

Falls City Council 1336 hosted its annual clergy appreciation cookout for priests from the local deanery. Knights prepared grilled steaks for seven priests, including one missionary priest from Central America.

James Thomson Council 4892 in Bellevue hosted a bake sale that raised $312 for its scholarship fund.

Cardinal Muench Council 782 in Fargo raised $540 for the Visitation Chapel, a special chapel dedicated to the celebration and exposition of the Eucharist and located adjacent to the state's only abortion facility. The chapel was established June 1 and is not sustained by diocesan funds, but is supported instead by the community.

In honor of Columbus Day, members of St. Patrick-St. Ann Council 10296 in Montrose-Humboldt served as ushers, lectors, gift bearers and extraordinary ministers of the Eucharist at all Masses at their parishes Oct. 8-9.
