Sacred Heart Council 2249 in Red Bluff assisted Sacred Heart Grammar School with its annual Lenten fish frys. All proceeds from the fish frys — typically about $4,500 — are donated back to the school.

Father Bernard Tobin Council 9153 in Fresno commissioned an artist to restore the Stations of the Cross at St. Jude Church in Easton. The council donated the cost of the restoration in memory of Elsie Correia, the late wife of one of the council's founding members, who supported the council and her parish in many ways over the years.

Father Henry J. Banks Council 9740 in Canyon Country raised $4,000 to erect a new flagpole at St. Clare Church. Knights also installed the pole, which is dedicated to past, present and future members of the armed forces.

Ed Calderon of St. Elizabeth Council 4728 in San Francisco dribbles the ball past defenders from Epiphany Council 11033 during a fraternal basketball game between the two councils. The K of C basketball teams participate in games and tournaments with each other and with other parish and community groups. The teams have also been a boon for recruitment.

William J. Leahy Council 1307 in Astoria raised $4,100 for Special Olympics of Clatsop County during the council's annual fund drive for people with intellectual disabilities.

On three occasions in February, members of Bremerton Council 1379 traveled to the Washington State Capitol in Olympia to show their opposition to a bill that would legalize gay marriage in the state. Though the bill was signed into law Feb. 13, Knights served as a visible witness of pro-family values.
