Our Lady of the Lake Council 12270 in Pell City replaced the deck at the home of a local senior citizen. Knights learned that the woman fell and broke her arm when her rotted deck collapsed. In response, council members built a new deck, stairs and wheelchair ramp, donating $950 worth of materials for the project.

Hot Springs Council 6419 sponsored a dinner fundraiser to benefit seminarians in the Diocese of Little Rock.

Daniel Patrick Sullivan Council 10208 in Hot Springs sponsored a lasagna dinner to raise funds to furnish the new dining room at the Diocese of Little Rock's House of Formation. The 200 people in attendance contributed more than $9,000 to help purchase dining room furniture. In addition, the council donated $1,000 to the diocese's director of vocations to assist individual seminarians.

Members of Karl A. Christ Jr. Council 12778 in Heber Springs look on as residents from a local group home for people with disabilities enjoy a day of fishing on the Little Red River. Knights sponsored the men for a day of trout fishing and a cookout. The council also hosted a cookout for Robert Cigainera, a seminarian whom the council has supported through the Refund Support Vocations Program (RSVP).

Blue Grass Assembly in Lexington awarded $500 scholarships to Michael Rupinen and Suzanne Miller, both of whom will attend Lexington Catholic High School in the fall.

Father Peter P. Boerding Council 6357 in Belle Chasse cooked hamburgers and hot dogs as part of a fundraiser for a local family that lost all of their belongings in a fire. Knights donated $1,000 to the family, and the event raised more than $26,000 in total.

Msgr. Tjebbe Bekema Council 12060 in Thibodaux prepared magnetic boards for the religious education classrooms at its parish. Knights donated $250 worth of materials for the project.

Lawrence R. Roussell Sr. Council 8396 in Athens prepared and served meals for Bishop Richard F. Stika of Knoxville; Father Michael Cummins, director of the diocesan vocations office; and 13 seminarians at the annual seminarians' retreat at the diocese's new retreat center in Benton.

Good Shepherd Council 6358 in Schertz donated $1,500 to the Schertz Senior Center to help provide senior citizens with meals and support throughout the year. The council also donated $1,000 to its parish food pantry.

St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Council 7850 in Plano hosted its third annual charity golf tournament. Sixty-eight golfers participated in the event, which also included a buffet dinner. The tournament raised more than $5,000 for the Plano Police Department.

William Cancel of St. Matthew Council 8065 in San Antonio applies a fresh coat of paint to a piece of playground equipment at the Mercedarian Sisters of the Blessed Sacrament Learning Center, a facility that provides Catholic pre-K education to the surrounding community. Knights repainted and repaired the aging equipment, giving it plenty of new life.

St. Thomas More Council 9997 in Austin donated a new barbecue grill with accessories to the Borromeo House of Discernment for the Austin Diocese.

George Rejsek of St. Michael the Archangel Council 14700 in Houston repaints one of the handicapped parking spaces at St. Mary's Seminary. In addition to repainting the parking lot stripes, Knights inventoried 150 rooms at the seminary by replacing batteries in each of the smoke detectors, assessing the functionality of lights, outlets and faucets, and organizing the rooms so that each had the appropriate amount of furniture.
