St. Thomas Council 605 in Beloit, Wis., and St. Peter Council 8021 in Rockton purchased a new ultrasound machine for the Stateline Pregnancy Clinic through the Knights of Columbus Ultrasound Initiative. The two councils teamed up for the project because the pregnancy center serves clients in both Illinois and Wisconsin. Bishop Robert C. Morlino of Madison, Wis., blessed the machine at its dedication.

St. Daniel the Prophet Council 10575 in Wheaton hosted its annual golf outing, which raised more than $4,000 for Special Olympics and a camp for people with disabilities.

Msgr. William Schooler, pastor of St. Pius X Church in Granger and a member of Father Stephen T. Badin Council 4263, presents a chalice to Msgr. Larry Kanyike of Uganda. Knights donated the chalice and $300 to support a new church that Msgr. Kanyike built in his native country. In addition, Father John J. Walsh Council 7052 and Bishop Charles McLaughlin Assembly, both in Venice, Fla., donated a second chalice to the church.

Inspired by the Order's videos on the Global Wheelchair Mission, Bishop George Avis Fulcher Council 12387 in Carmel set out to raise $5,000 to purchase wheelchairs for those in need. Knights organized a benefit breakfast at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church that, complete with a donation from the parish women's club, exceeded its fundraising goal.

The 21 Fourth Degree assemblies of Michigan Fourth Degree District #2 raised money to donate five new mobility scooters to the Aleda E. Lutz VA Medical Center in Saginaw. The scooters will be used by veterans who are receiving treatment at the facility.

Queen of the Holy Rosary Council 3830 in Berkley sponsored one of the Order's traveling icons of Our Lady of Guadalupe for a prayer service at Our Lady of La Salette Church.

This past summer, Christ the King Council 9979 in Acme received a request from a parishioner who was looking to raise funds to enter the Community of St. John as a postulant. The parishioner, Joe Balog, came to the Knights with a membership form and a commitment to act as the council's Refund Support Vocations Program (RSVP) chairman. The council readily welcomed Balog into their ranks and donated $750 toward his goal.

Ottoville Council 2238 entered a float in the 50th Ottoville Park Carnival, held over Labor Day Weekend.

St. Francis of Assisi Council 10792 in Strongsville participated in an outdoor rosary at the City Commons in honor of the feast of the Assumption. The event brought together parishioners from two area churches.
