Father James F. O'Dea Council 13459 in Prospect cooked hot dogs and hamburgers for players at the Sgt. Joseph Nolan Golf Tournament Sept. 29 at the Southington Country Club. Joseph, the son of a council member, was killed while serving in Iraq in 2004. Nearly 100 golfers participated in the event.

St. Rose Council 320 in Jay and Andy Valley Council 8742 in Auburn presented three children with $500 for the Hope with Every Step-Maine AT (ataxia telangiectasia) fundraiser.

Bishop Rice Council 4822 in Ashland held its annual field day for area people with intellectual disabilities. The day afforded participants an opportunity to partake in several activities, including rides on an antique fire truck, fishing, kickball and more.

Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Council 11080 in West Brookfield held a pig roast to support the ministry of council member Kerry Brenner and his work with Mission Haiti. Brenner has been traveling to Haiti to assist with the building of a school, orphanage, chapel and clinic in the village of Dandaan. The pig roast helped raise awareness of the struggles that still exist in Haiti today and netted $1,500.

St. Philip Council 11087 in Greenville regularly sets up and breaks down furniture at its parish for a variety of parish activities and events.

St. John Vianney Council 7525 in South Burlington hosted a roast beef dinner and silent auction to benefit the Chittenden County Right to Life Committee. Knights and their wives served more than 250 people at the dinner, and the event raised more than $4,500.
