On the first Saturday of each month, St. Catharines Council 1394 gathers with concerned citizens from throughout the Niagara Region to stand in pro-life witness outside of St. Catharines General Hospital.
Bishop N.Z. Lorrain Council 1531 in Pembroke sponsored a Mass and luncheon in honor of the Grey Sisters of the Immaculate Conception and the Sisters of St. Joseph, two religious communities who have provided decades of support to the community of Pembroke. The event included a diocesan-wide Mass at St. Columbkille Cathedral, followed by a catered lunch and celebration for more than 260 people.
In honor of the Year of Faith, Upper Hamilton Council 5860 sponsored the Vatican International Exhibit of the Eucharistic Miracles of the World at its council hall. From Nov. 26-29, 2012, the exhibit was open to parishioners from five area churches and 200 schoolchildren. In addition to providing a venue for the exhibition, the council also provided funding for a "children's version" of the exhibit.
Father Victor C. Cote Council 9671 in Windsor hosted its annual Christmas party for the children of members. The afternoon included food, entertainment and, of course, a visit from Santa.
Father Murtaugh Lalor Council 10308 in Picton held a charity raffle Nov. 30, 2012, to support the Prince Edward County Children's Aid Society Angel Tree Program and the Ontario Provincial Police Adopt-A-Child Snowsuit Fund. The event featured an abundance of prizes and raised enough money to donate $500 to both the Snowsuit Fund and the Angel Tree Program.
Maria S.S. del Monte Council 11451 in Hamilton donated four cartons of boys and girls coats to needy children through the Coats for Kids Program.
