Bienville Assembly in New Orleans hosted a talk by Bert Stolier, a warrant officer from the U.S. Marines who survived the attack on Pearl Harbor and went on to have a distinguished career in the Pacific theater during World War II.
Marquette Council 1437 in New Orleans collected more than 18 bags of clothes for the Ozanam Inn, a local homeless shelter, during a council-sponsored clothing drive. The council also donated food and funds to Immaculate Conception Church for the church's Thanksgiving food drive.
Msgr. Peter M. H. Wynhoven Council 3091 in Westwego volunteered with Second Harvesters to distribute food and turkeys to 200 needy families prior to Thanksgiving. The council also cooked for the annual senior citizens Christmas party hosted by the Westwego Police Department. Knights prepared more than 300 meals, some of which were personally delivered to shut-ins.
Members of Msgr. Tjebbe Bekema Council 12060 in Thibodaux provided a gift card to their pastor at their parish's annual Christmas gathering. Knights also prepared three turkeys for the event.
