On Dec. 19, 2012, Arden Carmichael Council 4970 in Sacramento visited the Bishop Gallegos Maternity Home to deliver Christmas presents to the 19 women living there. Knights presented more than $1,000 in gifts, including a year's continuation of the facility's cleaning service and gifts for the residents and director.

Members of St. Jude Council 7155 in Marina and their families are responsible for manning the St. Vincent de Paul food pantry at St. Jude Church. In 2012, Knights aided 745 families with 12,500 pounds of donated food. The council also held a blood drive that netted 20 units of blood.

Chino Valley Council 10234 in Chino Hills, St. Margaret Mary Council 15339 in Chino and De Anza Assembly in Fonta joined together to march in the Chino Christmas Parade Dec. 8, 2012. Knights distributed candy to parade watchers along the 1.5 mile route.

Mateo DeVargas and Clay Englund of Charles Turina Circle 4669 in Astoria help a customer with her Christmas tree purchase during a sale co-sponsored by the Squires and by William J. Leahy Council 1307. Squires cut down the trees from a local farm, hauled them to St. Mary, Star of the Sea Church and sold them over two weekends. The tree sales netted $1,060 to help with the council's Coats for Kids program.
