Pope John Paul I Assembly in Bella Vista has donated a number of chalices and patens to Catholic priests who are members of the Indian Missionary Society in Varanassi, India. The most recent chalice donation was made in memory of late assembly member Fran Heinen, who traveled to India in 2011 with a mission group and suggested that the assembly begin donating chalices in memory of deceased Knights to Indian priests.

Hot Springs Council 6419 hosted a "Dinner Theater of Magic" event to raise funds for disaster relief in New York and New Jersey from Hurricane Sandy. The council's ladies' auxiliary prepared dessert for the event, and more than 130 people attended, raising $1,700.

When Msgr. Adam A. Micek Council 8410 in Harrison received two hogs in donation from a parishioner, the council decided to raffle one and have a pig roast with the other. Knights raffled the first hog, raising nearly $2,000 for charity, and roasted the second as an appreciation dinner for everyone who supported the raffle.

Divine Mercy Council 13829 in Siloam Springs hosted a pro-life baby bottle drive that netted $2,000 for the New Beginnings Pregnancy Center. The funds will be used to help defray the cost of a new ultrasound machine.

All Saints Council 14234 in Taylorsville and St. Michael Council 15525 in Jeffersontown co-sponsored a Christmas dinner. Knights requested that attendees bring an unwrapped toy to donate to charity, and the dinner netted about 80 toys for needy children.

New Iberia Council 1208 donated 17 pyx for distributing Communion to Father Thomas Bamutaze, a visiting priest from Jinja, Uganda. The pyx will allow Father Bamutaze and other extraordinary ministers of the Eucharist to distribute Communion in their geographically large and populous parish.

St. Dominic Council 3729 in New Orleans hosted a champagne brunch in honor of longtime Knight and community leader Peter Compagno Sr. More than 200 people attended the event, with proceeds donated to Ozanam Inn, a community center that feeds and houses the homeless. Specifically, the funds were used to offset the cost of the inn's Christmas dinner.

Holy Family Council 9085 at Barksdale Air Force Base in Louisiana donated new undergarments and socks to an Operation Stand Down event in Shreveport. Operation Stand Down offers homeless veterans the chance to obtain medical and dental services, free clothing and haircuts, and a place to eat and sleep for the weekend.

St. Basil the Great Council 10721 in Lafayette donated $600 each to Duson Elementary School, Ridge Elementary School, Judice Middle School and Charles Burke Elementary School. The funds will be used to purchase books for the schools' libraries.

Richard Johnson (left) of Sacred Heart Southern Missions and Ken Lubbers of Hernando DeSoto Council 7120 in Southaven load excess food items from a local supermarket into carts for donation to the needy. Knights partner with a grocery store to regularly pick up excess produce, baked goods and deli items for Sacred Heart Southern Missions, which distributes the food to its clients. Knights generate about 1,200 pounds of food each week for the pantry.

For the 49th consecutive year, Marian Council 4563 in Murfreesboro purchased Christmas gifts for all of the patients at Community Care of Rutherford County. In addition to purchasing, wrapping and delivering the gifts to 126 patients at the nursing home, Knights and family members also sang Christmas carols for patients and staff.

Eight K of C councils from Sugar Land, Rosenberg and Richmond raised $40,500 through several activities to purchase a new ultrasound machine for the Fort Bend County Pregnancy Resource Center. The funds needed for the machine were matched by the Supreme Council through the Knights of Columbus Ultrasound Initiative, and extra money from the fundraising effort was used to make other technology upgrades to the pregnancy center.

New Braunfels Council 4183 distributed pro-life "Mark your Door for Mary" plaques at three area churches to raise funds for Project Gabriel. The program encourages parishioners to demonstrate their commitment to the pro-life cause by marking their front doors or mailboxes with a special icon of Mary.

Father James A. Donnelly Council 6658 in Copperas Cove leased a "Keep Christ in Christmas" billboard for the duration of the holiday season.

Members of the armed forces, including Knights from the Camp Eggers Round Table in Kabul, Afghanistan, pass along bundles of winter clothing for donation to needy Afghan families. As part of the Camp Eggers Volunteer Community Relations Team, the round table was instrumental in helping to collect and deliver more than 2,000 hats and gloves and 200 coats to needy families living around Camp Morehead. The community relations team also delivered clothing, shoes, blankets and toys during the distribution. The round table is sponsored by Christ the Savior Council 9120 in El Paso.

St. Philip the Apostle Council 9220 in Corpus Christi sponsors a benefit breakfast each month at its parish following first Sunday devotions. Beginning in July 2012, Knights have served breakfast to parishioners each month, with funds going to pastor Father Hanh Van Pham's personal charities, like an orphanage in Vietnam.

Child Jesus Council 10509 in Kermit entered a float in the town's Christmas parade, winning first place in the non-profit/youth category.

The Good Shepherd Council 10816 in Stephenville held its annual "Challenge of Champions" soccer tournament, which saw 24 high school teams compete in boys and girls divisions. The event raised $4,500, which was donated back to area soccer organizations.
