Cadets of the Civil Air Patrol Squadron of Highlands County performed a flag presentation ceremony for members of Pope John Paul XXIII Council 5441 in Sebring, which hosts squadron meetings in its council home. The flag was presented to Grand Knight John O’Sullivan, Faithful Navigator Michael Basile of Cmdr. Joseph T. O’Callaghan Assembly, and Alma Almeida, president of the ladies’ auxiliary.

In an effort to keep a Planned Parenthood office from opening up in the area, four councils in St. Augustine banded together to form an organization called Culture of Life USA and sponsor a conference on the history and anti-life practices of Planned Parenthood. Each of the 350 people attending the conference at World Golf Village received a pro-life bumper sticker. Knights from St. John Mission Council 8917 in Interlachen and Father Patrick J. Lynch Council 6108 in Gainesville worked together to load a truck for the St. Vincent de Paul Society. Council 8917 also installed a safety outdoor light at the St. Vincent de Paul Thrift Center and constructed an access ramp for a handicapped Interlachen resident.

Cmdr. Joseph T. O’Callahan SJ Assembly in Sebring led a pro-life rosary procession on Respect Life Sunday from St. Catherine Church. The procession included devotions to Our Lady of Fatima.

Santa Maria Council 4999 in Palm Beach Gardens sponsored a talk on the programs of Cenacle Spiritual Life retreat center by Sister Barbara Ehrler, retreat director. The Knights presented the center with a check for $1,000. The council also presented $300 checks each to Girl Scout Troop 34 and Cub Scout Troop 714 for their programs.
Knights and family members from Our Lady of Space Council 5667 in Titusville celebrated the council's 25th anniversary with a dinner at which more than $5,500 in donations were made to several area charities including food pantries, a hospice and a program that educates young people on how to be better parents.
St. Louis the Crusader Council 12929 in Tallahassee hosted an appreciation picnic for altar servers at St. Louis Catholic Church.
Niceville Council 13527 and Howard J. Lesch Assembly organized a drive to collect exercise equipment for U.S. troops in Iraq. The donated items were sent to Camp Lejeune for shipment to Iraq.
San Carlos Council 2596 in Fort Myers opened its council home for the annual telethon of the Muscular Dystrophy Association of Southwest Florida. The council provided phone volunteers and food for the workers of the telethon, which raised $13,000.

St. John Vianney Council 12580 in Lithia Springs raffled a 54-inch television, raising $3,000 to help pay off the church’s mortgage.

Members of St. James Council 7450 in Concord helped purchase a new sign for St. James the Great Church. The Knights raised and donated $5,000 to the project.

District Deputy Johnny Nix and State Respect Life Chairman Jim St. Clair deliver donated diapers and infants’ clothing to an unidentified representative of the Light of Hope Crisis Pregnancy Center in Sumter. The Knights make similar donations to Birthright and Catholic Charities.

Newly ordained Father David Whitman was honored at a dinner sponsored by Father Maurice P. Daly Assembly in Spartanburg. Father Whitman, who was aided financially by the assembly during his years in the seminary, was given a chalice, paten and traveling Mass kit.

Glenmary Council 7853 in Norton held a picnic for 125 Special Olympics athletes at Bullitt Park in Big Stone Gap. Each athlete was given a specially made Knights of Columbus T-shirt.
Members of Rappahannock Assembly in Fredericksburg presented all 43 versions of the U.S. flag in ceremonies to open the Virginia State Council’s quarterly meeting at Holy Cross Academy in Fredericksburg.

Melmer, pastor of St. John the Evangelist Church and faithful friar, during a eucharistic procession to commemorate the Year of the Eucharist. Holding the canopy over the monstrance were members of Father Veger Council 5561 in Warrenton.
