Dr. Thomas A. Dooley Assembly in Dupage County provided an honor guard for Bishop J. Peter Sartain of Joliet when he celebrated Mass at St. Matthew Church.

Bishop Raymond P. Hillinger Assembly in North Cook County provided an honor guard at a Lenten meditation at St. John Brebeuf Church.

Grand Knight Randy Barton of Marion Council 6210 heaves some refuse onto a bonfire at Camp Ondessonk, a Catholic youth camp in the Shawnee National Forest. Knights, who have volunteered at the camp for 10 years, dismantled and burned rotten walkways so that volunteers could build new structures the following week. Christ the King Council 8473 in Wonder Lake donated more than $6,000 to various community agencies following its annual fund drive for people with intellectual disabilities. Among the recipients were the McHenry County Behavioral Healthcare Foundation and FINDS, a research group for Down’s syndrome.

St. Joseph Council 11358 in Manteno donated more than $2,600 to a town in the Philippines affected by a typhoon. Some of the funds will be used to rebuild homes in Arteche, Samar, the first of which will be dedicated to Father Michael J. McGivney. The council also sent a K of C crucifix with the monetary donation.

Holy Family Council 11981 in Inverness participated in the Chicago Mercy Home annual Shamrock fundraiser. Timed for St. Patrick’s Day, the council raised $1,500 for the organization.

Patrick Roberts, a member of Crawfordsville Council 1591, and his wife Gloria look on as third-grader Alex Grino places an Easter lily in a crib at St. Bernard’s Church. Council 1591 recognized the International Day of the Unborn by distributing the lilies to parishioners at Mass and asking them to place the flowers in the crib.

Msgr. Thomas O. Martin Assembly in Wyoming sponsored a free dinner for family and friends of local Marines deployed in Iraq. The assembly served about 200 dinners to relatives of Alpha Company 1/24.

Msgr. J. M. Steffes Assembly in Manistee provided an honor guard during a Divine Mercy Sunday procession at St. Mary of Mount Carmel Shrine.

Msgr. J. M. Steffes Council 853 in Manistee raised nearly $8,000 during its annual fund drive over Palm Sunday weekend. Most of the funds were donated to ARC of Manistee County.

Holy Cross Council 2739 in Detroit hosted its 42nd annual clergy and religious appreciation dinner. The event honored 96 nuns, two priests and three religious visiting from India. Each received a gift from the council before enjoying a dinner and several games of bingo.

Robert H. Jones Council 3078 in Lincoln Park held a St. Patrick’s Day corned beef and cabbage dinner that raised $6,000 for people with intellectual disabilities.

St. Paul of Tarsus Council 11689 in Clinton Township donated a portrait of the image of Divine Mercy to St. Joseph’s Church in Savanna La Mar, Jamaica.

Sandusky Council 546 and the Fraternal Order of Police (FOP) co-sponsored a benefit dinner for Officer Todd Suarez. Suarez was injured in the line of duty and cannot return to work. Knights and FOP members served more than 900 spaghetti dinners and raised approximately $18,000 for the Suarez family.

North Olmsted Council 4731 delivered a trunk load of soda can pull-tabs to the Ronald McDonald House of Cleveland. The council collected tabs throughout the year, which the Ronald McDonald House uses to provide financial aid for families with hospitalized children.

St. Patrick of Heatherdowns Council 14155 in Toledo held an essay contest for students at St. Patrick School. Five winners received certificates of achievement and monetary awards.

Msgr. Conrad Saille Council 1002 in Antigo raised more than $2,300 during its annual fund drive for people with intellectual disabilities.

St. Patrick’s Council 3464 in Elkhorn hosted its annual KC-Mason dinner with guests from the Delavan Southern Lakes Masonic Lodge #12 and Msgr. McDermott Council 1612 in Delavan. At the event, Knights presented keynote speaker Sal Dimiceli with a $1,000 check for his charity, The Time is Now.

Sacred Heart Council 6228 in Wautoma held a First Degree for Squires eligible to become Knights. Bret Walejko and Jordan Winfred, both members of St. George Circle 4410, joined Council 6228.

Thomas Aquinas Council 8172 in Waterford hosted a special Mass marking the Order’s 125th anniversary and honoring deceased members. The council also recognized Deacon Joe Hying, a 50-year Knight. Council 8172 treated Joe and his wife, Donna, to brunch following Mass.

Our North Woods Catholic Cluster Council 12738 in Iron River sells "Heavenly Hamburgers" at local community events. Last year, the council raised $1,500 for its charitable fund.
