St. Francis of Assisi Assembly in Sierra Vista provided an honor guard when the relics of several military-related saints visited the chapel at the U.S. Army base, Fort Huachuca.

Bishop Salpointe Council 4584, Our Lady of the Mountains Council 10799 and St. Francis of Assisi Assembly, all in Sierra Vista, actively maintain the Fry Pioneer Cemetery. Knights receive assistance from area Boy Scouts in cleaning and maintaining the cemetery, which was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2009.

Father Eugene Weibel Assembly in Jonesboro hosted a teddy bear drive to collect stuffed animals for a number of area agencies. Knights collected about 3,000 plush critters for distribution by nurses and doctors at four regional hospitals and by first responders at accident sites.

Parishioners dressed in tradition garb carry an image of Our Lady of Guadalupe on her feast day Dec. 12. Bishop Armstrong Assembly in Eureka provided an honor guard for the feast day celebration, which included Mass and performances by mariachi musicians and traditional Aztec dancers.

Msgr. William Van Garsse Assembly in Victorville donated $1,325 to Sergeants Major Association (SMA) of California, an organization that provides aid to members of the California National Guard. In addition, the assembly donated 2,800 Bibles and 1,500 rosaries for use by troops serving all over the world.

Padre Burgos Assembly in Manila provided an honor guard at a wreath laying ceremony Dec. 30 in honor of Philippines national hero, Dr. Jose P. Rizal.

Marian Assembly in Marikina provided an honor guard for a memorial Mass in honor of Andrés Bonifacio, founder of Philippine revolution society Katipunan.

Jere Hartnet (left) of Pope John Paul II Assembly in Burlington and Robert Keating (right) of Father Morgan Vincent Assembly in Georgetown stand with Babe Santucci of the Halton Catholic District School Board and some of the valentines that were created by students at 22 area schools. Knights from Halton County packaged and shipped the valentines to Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, for distribution to veterans at nursing homes and care facilities across Canada.

Mike Farely (foreground) of Father Lally Council 5793 in Collingwood carries the Olympic torch on its route from Thunder Bay to Kenora. Farley, who has Williams syndrome, was selected by Coca-Cola as a torchbearer after he composed an essay about environmentalism. Father Baxter Assembly in Thunder Bay provided an honor guard for part of the run.

Father Cyril W. Sullivan Assembly in Brampton provided an honor guard for the mayor's annual New Year's Day Levee, an open house that allows members of the public to meet personally with the mayor of Brampton, as well as the heads of several other city departments.

Fourth Degree Knights from throughout the Diocese of Harrisburg provided an honor guard for the final Mass celebrated by Bishop Kevin C. Rhoades before he was transferred to the Diocese of Fort Wayne-South Bend. Bishop Rhoades is a member of St. Patrick Cathedral Council 11008 in Harrisburg.

Bishop Hoban Assembly in Honesdale provided an honor guard when a relic of St. Mary Magdalene visited St. Mary Magdalene Church in Honesdale. Normally kept at a grotto in southeast France, the relic was on a six-week tour of parishes throughout the eastern United States.

Bishop Phelan Assembly in Monessen, Fort Pitt Assembly in Pittsburg and Father T. W. Rosenteel Assembly in Sharpsburgh provided an honor guard Jan. 10 for the annual respect life Mass at St. Paul's Cathedral.

An honor guard from Bishop Ledvina Assembly in Harlingen provided an honor guard for a pro-life march to mark the 37th anniversary of the Roe v. Wade court decision. Many members of Keralum Council 2785 participated in the March, and Dr. Robert Holder, a council member and NFP-certified physician, delivered the event's keynote address.

St. Joseph the Worker Council 13470 and Mary, Queen of Peace Assembly, both in Arlington, are part of a contingent of veterans, civilians and school children who regularly greet returning troops at the Dallas Fort Worth International Airport. About 275 soldiers, Marines and airmen arrive daily from Iraq and Afghanistan.

Knights and volunteers from the VFW and American Legion sort donations during a "Sweats for Vets" drive to benefit the Martinsburg VA Medical Center. St. Elizabeth Bayley Seton Assembly in Sterling and Pope John Paul II Assembly in Potomac Falls co-sponsored the drive, which collected 700 sweat suits and $1,000 in cash donations.

Nineteen councils and three assemblies from throughout Richmond teamed together to co-host their annual Christmas Eve dinner for 700 patients, families and staff members at the Hunter Holmes McGuire VA Medical Center. More than 200 Knights and their family members volunteered to serve the dinner, which included turkey, ham, roast beef and more. Patients in attendance also received gift cards or calling cards.

Msgr. William J. Sweeney Assembly in Richland and Father William A. Schmitz Assembly in Kennewick provided an honor guard for a special bilingual Mass in honor of Our Lady of Guadalupe, held at the TRAC Center in Pasco. Bishop William S. Skylstad of Spokane concelebrated the Mass with 12 area priests in front of approximately 3,000 people. Bishop Skylstad is a member of Spokane Council 683.
