St. Maximilian Kolbe Council 15700 Officially Instituted
On May 8, 2013, St. Maximilian Kolbe Council 15700, Grafenwoehr, Germany in the European Overseas Military District #1 was officially instituted with 42 Charter Knights. Formed initially as a roundtable sponsored by Fr. Emil Kapaun Council 11987, Ramstein, Germany, the Council's institution represents the cooperation and coordination among Council 11987, the District Deputy Sir Knight Gary Gnidziejko, District Warden Sir Knight Gene Wall, Former District Deputy Sir Knight Scott Dunn, PGK Sir Knight Thomas Shaver and Sir Knight James Federline at Grafenwoehr. The council honors St. Maximilian Kolbe an heroic Catholic Priest martyred in a Nazi concentration camp in World War II. This gives the European District eight active military councils in England, Germany, and Italy.
