You can now access Columbia magazine on your favorite tablet or e-reader, even the iPad

1/18/2013

You can now access Columbia magazine on your favorite tablet or e-reader, even the Apple iPad. Beginning with the January 2013 issue, Columbia will be available each month free of charge in multiple digital formats.

At the start of each month, visit kofc.org/columbia to download a .mobi or .epub version of the magazine. Simply save the desired file on your personal computer, connect your Nook or Kindle device and transfer the file to your e-reader.

If you have a tablet like the iPad, Nook HD or Amazon Kindle Fire, along with an Internet connection, you can access Columbia each month without having to download any files. Visit issuu.com/columbia-magazine to access the current or any recently archived issues of Columbia.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is there a subscription service for the digital version of the magazine?
There is no subscription service. Users can simply visit kofc.org/columbia each month to access the needed file. Or you can visit issuu.com/columbia-magazine to read the issue online.

Do I need to cancel my print subscription to get the digital version of the magazine?
You can choose to cancel your print subscription or keep it - the choice is up to you. If you wish to cancel your print subscription, send an email to columbia@kofc.org.

What kind of e-readers can use the digital files offered?
There are many e-readers and tablets on the market, so it's impossible to say for sure whether the digital files will work on your particular device. However, the digital version of Columbia should work on any device that supports .mobi or .epub files. Check your device specifications to see what file type is best for you. (Note: Some e-readers, like the Kobo Touch, will support both file types.)

Can I access back issues?
The .mobi and .epub files will be offered for the first time in January 2013, so there are no archives for your e-reader before this date. You can, however, access issues of the magazine back to 2008 on issuu.com.

What should I do if I encounter problems?
The editors of Columbia want the readers of our digital edition to be just as satisfied as the readers of our print edition. If you experience a problem, write to us at columbia@kofc.org. We'll try to offer whatever support we can.
