Following the call of Pope Benedict XVI, the Knights of Columbus is taking a leadership role during the Year of Faith, which began on October 11, 2012, and will conclude on November 24, 2013.
In October, Supreme Knight Carl Anderson was invited to the solemn opening of the Year of Faith at the Vatican, and served as an auditor at the monthlong Synod of Bishops for the New Evangelization, which is a keystone to all Year of Faith programs and initiatives.
The Knights of Columbus is also encouraging all local councils to take an active part in the Year of Faith, and has developed a Council Action Plan, and an incentive program, that maps out a practical path for all councils, Knights and their families.
The Order has also published a Year of Faith Prayer Booklet, with a list of traditional prayers for every Knight and council to use on a regular basis, at home and at meetings.
Working together, all councils and assemblies, and every individual Knight, must strive to make the Year of Faith a time of spiritual growth, charitable outreach and developing a closer relationship with Jesus Christ and his Church.
