Michael J. O'Connor
Supreme Secretary of the Knights of Columbus
Michael J. O’Connor is the Supreme Secretary of the Knights of Columbus and a member of the Supreme Board of Directors since 2007. He previously served as Supreme Treasurer and Assistant Supreme Advocate. He has been a member of the Knights of Columbus since 1986 and served as the Grand Knight of Council 2580 in Frackville, PA and the Faithful Navigator of Assembly 923 in Pottsville, PA. He also served as a District Deputy from 1994-1998, Pennsylvania State Advocate from 2000-2002 and was elected as the State Deputy of Pennsylvania for the 2006-2008 fraternal years, where he earned the Circle of Honor Award for his jurisdiction both years.
Michael has served the Diocese of Allentown on the following Boards: Priest Review Board, Board Member – 10 Years, Diocesan Pastoral Council, Member Catholic Charities, Diocesan School Board. He is a member and Eucharistic Minister at St. Joseph the Worker Parish, Frackville, and served as the President of the Schuylkill County Saint Thomas More Society.
He attended the Western Michigan Law School in Lansing, Michigan, and graduated with a J.D. in September 1986. Michael also attended Villanova University in Villanova, Pennsylvania, where he attained a M.A. in Political Science/State and Local Government in 1983 and a B.A. in Political Science in 1980. He is the founder of Michael J. O’Connor & Associates, a law firm with 15 offices throughout Pennsylvania, and was selected and named as a Pennsylvania Super Lawyer from 2004 to 2018 as published by Philadelphia Magazine.
He is licensed to practice law in: Pennsylvania, District of Columbia, Connecticut, United States Supreme Court.
Michael and his wife, Patricia, have three children.
