Council Growth/Making a Lasting Difference in Your Community
This training is one of three trainings – Council Growth, Member Experience, and You Are Your Programs – designed to help your council reach its maximum potential. Council Growth is designed to demonstrate the importance of establishing a "Culture of Sustainable Growth and Servant Leadership Development" in every Knights of Columbus Council. The presentation explores how your council can make a lasting difference in your community, by establishing goals for your council’s growth and discussing action steps to help you not only meet, but exceed these goals:

    • Learn how to develop a simple, specific, year-round plan for growing council membership, that involves participation from the whole council.
    • Prepare to work with your pastor(s), field agent, and district deputy to accomplish your goals.
    • Understand the importance of hosting regular ceremonials, incorporating recruitment into every event, and running membership drives.

    Guidelines for Conducting Council Meetings
Strong councils hold good meetings that members enjoy. Those who attend should feel that their time is well spent; they will not tolerate their time being wasted. Successful meetings do not happen by chance. They require significant planning and coordination. This training shares tips for planning and hosting effective meetings, including preparing an agenda, presenting motions and resolutions, and conducting elections. It also includes best practices for hosting at least two regular meetings each month: a Council meeting for all members, and an Officers’ Planning meeting.

    • The Council meeting is meant to build fraternal spirit, to share information, to strengthen formation in the faith, and to present matters that require the vote of council members.
    • The Officers’ Planning meeting is the time to plan programs, develop budgets, pay approved bills, prepare motions, discuss new ideas, and deal with other necessary matters.

In addition to guidance on how to run a good meeting, this training also provides guidance and discussion on virtual meetings and the conduct of business by virtual means.

    COVID Recovery Program
We all know that this pandemic has been very different, and very challenging. As Catholics, many of us have had our churches shut down for a prolonged period of time with limited opportunities to receive the sacraments. And as Knights, it’s been tough to keep up the fraternity and friendships. Fundraisers and events have been affected as well. Some of our councils have found ways to adapt and adjust but that hasn’t been the case everywhere. This training will help your council to organize and take steps to be more effective in your parish and community as restrictions continue to be eased.

    Delta Church Drive
Church drives allow your council the opportunity to invite every man and his family to be a part of your council. The success of your Church recruitment drive will largely depend on the planning and preparations your council makes leading up to it. Attendees will be guided through a much warmer, friendlier, and easier way to host a Church Recruitment Drive.  This highly effective process of growth through communication will help you go from prospects to members and answer the “why?” of growth. This webinar will show you how easy (and fun) a Delta Church Drive can be.
Presentation will cover The Prospect landing page and interaction with the prospect. Come learn how to adapt the Delta Drive method to your council's next event.

Enhancing Member Experience By Creating a Culture of Engagement
This training is one of three trainings – Council Growth, Member Experience, and You Are Your Programs – designed to help your council reach its maximum potential. This training on Enhancing Member Experience by Creating a Culture of Engagement is one of the most important we have to offer. Covered in this training:

    • Understand what’s meant by the terms “membership experience” and “membership engagement” and how the two are related.
    • Complete the Council Engagement Assessment to evaluate your council’s strengths and weaknesses with regards to member engagement.
    • Recognize that member engagement is the council’s responsibility. Successful council engagement leads to members with positive opinions about their membership.
    • Learn the five steps in the engagement cycle and how they relate to one another, ultimately leading a member to go through them again.
    • Discover tools that will help address deficiencies in your council’s current member engagement as based on your council’s engagement score.
    • Understand that retention issues result when a council has failed to engage a member and show the value of his membership. These issues can be overcome by discovering where this breakdown occurred.

    You Are Your Programs
This training is one of three trainings – Council Growth, Member Experience, and You Are Your Programs – designed to help your council reach its maximum potential. This training is designed to help council leaders begin to develop a plan to put forth their Vision and Mission by running quality programs that are designed to enable you and your council to engage each other, your families and those you serve in meaningful, intentional, and faithful ways. Covered in this training:

    • Understand the council’s perception by fellow parishioners, particularly that of inactive members and future potential members.
    • Construct a council mission statement that reflects the council’s vision and goals. Understand the Faith in Action program model and its four categories – Faith, Family, Community and Life.
    • Identify the council’s flagship program(s).
    • Access the council’s current program regimen and identify the current strengths and weaknesses in its program calendar.
    • Develop a calendar for the next 6-12 months that responds to the council’s mission statement.
    • Understand the Program Director’s role in leading the council’s programming efforts.
