How to get started with council growth- for any size council.
To successfully recruit for your council, we recommend assembling three groups in your growth team.
Here you can find several different strategies for recruiting new and disengaged members to your council.
These resources are an informative way to explain Online Membership at State or Council Meetings.
Councils can use Online Membership as a paperless way to bring a man into their council. Utilize the Why Join Brochure to explain the benefits of joining. The Online Application Guide provides a step-by-step walkthrough of the online process.
To include online members in local events, use the How to Invite Online Members to State Events Guide for tips and best practices.
Once a man joins online and selects your council, your grand knight and financial secretary can find him in the Prospect Tab on the Member Management application in Officers Online. A step by step guide to then add this new online member to your council is attached.
Blessed Michael McGivney had a vision in which every parish could be served by a Knights of Columbus council. Today, this vision also includes councils that include colleges and universities, cultural parishes and Eastern Rite churches.

The information below offers guidance in developing a college council, however, active communication with the College Councils Department is needed to best guide students and local Knights developing the council. The College Councils Department will send resources to aid in your new college council development as well as work to plan a campus visit from one of our college coordinators. The College Councils Department can be reached at college@kofc.org.
Sometimes councils go inactive and are suspended. When an opportunity to restart these councils comes up, this is a council reactivation and is slightly different than a new council development. See the resources below for complete information.
