Prayer and Peace

Although situated far from the necessary hustle and bustle of convention registration and other activities, the Adoration Chapel is at the heart of everything that transpires at the convention. The remote location of the chapel – a hotel meeting room reverently appointed with liturgical items – was chosen to maintain a holy silence for prayer and worship.

The chapel opened on Sunday morning, with Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament, and will be available to worshipers during daytime hours until 5 p.m. on Wednesday. Fourth Degree members of Our Lady of Guadalupe Province are taking shifts to provide a perpetual honor guard in the chapel.

The Blessed Sacrament is held in a beautiful silver monstrance that is mounted on a silver-and-marble tabernacle. On the tabernacle door are relief figures of the Holy Family.

Throughout the days of the convention, the chapel will serve as a place of prayer, reflection and peace, where Jesus is truly present under the appearance of the consecrated host. It is a reminder that the Order’s founder was a priest, and that all the good works and charitable donations of the Knights of Columbus must be motivated by the Gospel mandate to love God with all your heart and your neighbor as yourself.
