Three New Board Members Elected
In the Wednesday morning Business Session Aug.8, three new members were elected to the Knights of Columbus Board of Directors and five board members were re-elected.
The new members include:
Arcie J. Lim joined the Knights in 1982. He is presently a member of St. Mary’s Council 13072 in Vancouver.
He served as grand knight and financial secretary of Council 9479. Appointed as the British Columbia and Yukon State Council District Deputy from 2002 to 2004, he also served the state council in a number of roles including state warden in 2008, state advocate in 2009-2010, state treasurer in 2011- 2012, state secretary in 2013-2014 and state deputy in April 2015. He was faithful navigator of Assembly 29 and became a chartered member of Assembly 2944. He also served as president of the Knights of Columbus (B.C.) Charity Foundation.
Lim is very active in various movements and committees in his parish and archdiocesan. This includes a three-year term on a special task force of the Catholic Independent School of Vancouver Archdiocese and work as a member of the Policy and Procedures Committee. He sits on the board of two local NFP organizations and was a recipient of the Benemerenti Medal conferred by Pope Benedict XVl.
He was past president of Circulo Pampangueno, a non-profit organization extending financial aid and scholarships to students in the Philippines. He is vice president of the United Filipino Canadian Associations in British Columbia.
Arcie and his wife, Matilde, have two sons.
Terry converted to Catholicism while stationed at Fort Dix, N.J., in 1968. A Knight for more than 32 years, he has been a member of Council 3444 and Council 12931, serving in various roles in both councils.
He joined the Fourth Degree in April 1989, and has served in many offices, including Faithful Navigator for Assembly 1138.
He was appointed district deputy of the Texas State Council in 1993, afterward serving in a number of roles at the state level, including state treasurer in 2010, state secretary in 2012 and state deputy in 2014. In January 2018, he was appointed to serve on the United States Membership Growth Task Force.
Terry retired from Ronald Carroll Surveyors in 2010, after working as a land surveyor and project manager there for 22 years. Prior to this he worked at Mitchell & Assoc.
He and his wife, Estelle, have been married for more than 48 years. They have two children and four grandchildren.
Anthony Minopoli joined the Knights of Columbus in 1994 and served as grand knight of Council 4716 in Bridgeport, Conn.
Tony led the founding of Council 14014 and serves as his council’s membership chair and currently serves on the Columbian Charities Board of the Connecticut State Council.
Tony joined the Knights of Columbus home office in 2005 as senior vice president of investments. Now, as the executive vice president and chief investment officer, Tony is responsible for the day-to-day management of the nearly $25 billion in General Account assets and also serves as a consultant to the Order’s Executive and Finance Committee.
In partnership with the Supreme Knight, Tony led the creation of Knights of Columbus Asset Advisors in 2014. Under Tony’s leadership, Knights of Columbus Asset Advisors now manages approximately $750 million for over 220 clients and Catholic entities, including 19 archdiocesan and diocesan clients and over 60 state and local councils.
Tony and his wife, Karen, have been married for 25 years. They have two children, Joseph and Marissa.
