As a result of a decision of the Knights of Columbus' Board of Directors, beginning on September 1, Mexico now has five jurisdictions, the newest being Mexico West. The other Mexico jurisdictions are Mexico Central, Mexico Northeast, Mexico Northwest and Mexico South. Currently there are more than 12,000 members in Mexico.
During his report to the 132nd Supreme Council meeting, Supreme Knight Carl Anderson announced the formation of the new jurisdiction.
"I am also pleased to report that the Board of Supreme Directors has authorized a new jurisdiction of the Order in Mexico, to be known as Mexico West. This new territory brings to five the number of jurisdictions in Mexico," he said. "As our continued growth makes clear, the idea of a brotherhood of Catholic men committed to charity continues to be as relevant today as it was in Father McGivney’s time."
