State Deputies Gather in New Haven

K of C leaders from around the world gather in New Haven for the annual Organizational Meeting of Knights of Columbus State Deputies.

State leaders from across three continents gathered in New Haven, Conn., on Wednesday for the annual Organizational Meeting of Knights of Columbus State Deputies that will be held June 11-15.

The five-day meeting will begin with an evening dinner banquet, where state deputies and their wives will share food and conversation with their colleagues from around the globe. During this event, Supreme Knight Carl Anderson will address the gathering on the new and unique opportunities facing the state leaders in the year ahead.

Over the course of the next five days, the state deputies will work, learn and pray together, enjoying a full program of talks, workshops and special Masses.

Among the topics they will address are “10 Keys to Success as a State Deputy” presented by the supreme knight; membership growth; setting a growth plan; the fraternal-insurance partnership; charitable programs and their ability to help recruit and retain members; “Membership 365: One Member, Per Council, Per Month”; ceremonials; and home corporations.

Along with workshops and presentations, the state leaders and their wives will come together for social and religious events, including the celebration of Mass at St. Mary’s Church by Supreme Chaplain Archbishop William Lori. Following that Mass, each newly-elected state deputy will be presented with his jewel of office.
