Form Help Answers

  1. What is the difference between an "Online" form, and a "Print" form?
"Online" forms can be filled out, and electronically submitted to the Knights of Columbus. The "Print" forms can be filled out, then printed locally with the entered information.

  2. What is the "Sort by" feature for?
The "Sort by" feature is useful for arranging the list of forms by Due Date or Form Name.

If sorted by Due Date, the list will be ordered chronologically by date, starting with January.

If sorted by Form Name, the list of forms will be arranged alphabetically, starting with forms with names beginning with "A", and so on.

  3. What does it mean if I receive a "double submit" error?
A "double submit" error occurs if the submit button is clicked twice within a period of two minutes. This prevents a user from accidentally submitting the same set of information twice, while the data is processing.

Technical Help Answers

  1. When I click on a form, the form does not appear.
The forms were created in the most recent version of Adobe Acrobat. You will need to go to Adobe's web site and download the most recent version of Adobe Acrobat Reader.

You may also need to upgrade your web browser. If you are using a version of Internet Explorer below 6.0 it is recommended that you upgrade to Internet Explorer 6.0. If you use Netscape Navigator, go to Netscape's web site to upgrade. If you are using AOL as your browser, go to AOL's web site to upgrade to the latest version.

  2. I can access the form, but cannot submit the form.
If you receive an error telling you that you have to be connected to a web browser after you click the Submit button, it means that Adobe Acrobat Reader was not successfully installed as a plug in to your browser. You will need to do the following:

Go to Adobe's web site and download the latest version of Adobe Acrobat Reader. During the installation Adobe Acrobat Reader will automatically become a Plug In to your web browser. When the download is finished, restart your computer and try to access and submit the forms again.

If this does not work, you can manually make Adobe a plug in to your web browser. You can find the instructions on Adobe's technical support web site. Click the browser you use to go to the instructions page. Internet Explorer Netscape Navigator

  3. I have made the necessary updates, but the form still fails to display.
If you are unable to access the forms after upgrading your browser and Adobe Acrobat Reader you should go to the support section of Adobe's web site and follow the instructions.

You can also go to Microsoft's Knowledge Base for assistance.

  4. When I try to print the form, I get a blank page.
To print a copy of your form, you must use the print option from the Adobe product you are using and not the print option found at the top of your internet browser. Since Adobe is a plug-in to your internet browser, only the plug-in can print the Knight of Columbus online form.

  5. When I save a copy of the form to my hard drive, the information I filled in does not appear.
Adobe Acrobat Reader does not have the option to save the form with the information filled in. Adobe Acrobat Reader only allows the reading of .pdf files and the filling in of .pdf forms. To have the ability to save the forms, you must purchase either Adobe Approval or Adobe Acrobat from www.adobe.com.
