How does it work?
Over the next 40 days, Jesus, Our Lady of Guadalupe and St. Juan Diego will be your companions as together we seek to restore the gift of our sonship in God the Father.
There are multiple ways you can engage in this journey of consecration, whether watching video reflections, listening to daily audio meditations or following along in Fr. Innocent and Fr. Angelus’s book. Whichever path you choose, you’ll progress in five parts, each stage focused on different themes of restoration:
Part 1: Restoring Our Sonship
Part 2: Restoring Our Communion with God - Prayer
Part 3: Restoring Our Masculinity
Part 4: Restoring Our Actions and Attitudes of Sonship - The Beatitudes
Part 5: Restoring Our Mission
After you finish a reflection, we encourage you to pray this Litany of Restoration. In addition, you might consider the following spiritual practices to further prepare your heart for this work God is doing:
- Pray the Rosary, or at least a decade of the Rosary, each day, allowing Our Lady to walk with you.
- Make a plan to go to Confession, especially in the final week before your consecration.
- Attend Mass as often as possible — at the very least on Sundays and Holy Days of Obligation, and preferably on the day of your consecration.
Our preparation will culminate with a Prayer of Restoration of Sonship and an Act of Consecration to Jesus through Our Lady of Guadalupe.
These prayers act as a renewed “yes” to Jesus and our sonship in Him. By this journey, we proclaim that we are truly sons in the Son.
While this journey can be done at any time, it may be good to plan for the consecration to occur on a particular Marian feast day. December 12, the feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe, is ideal, but other feasts such as the Annunciation or the Assumption would also be appropriate. Below is a table of feast days and their corresponding starting dates.
