We live our lives online. We pay our bills online (even if you still use paper checks, your kids or grandkids don’t). We communicate electronically – if you want anyone under age 30 to be in touch with you, don’t bother leaving a voice message…send a text! We stay in touch digitally – Facebook anyone?

We live our lives online because it’s quicker, it’s easier, and it’s more immediate…the same reasons why encouraging men to join the Order online is the preferred way.

It’s quicker – the online join application takes less then 5 minutes to complete. And once the man clicks “Accept” on the confirmation email he receives…he’s a member. No need to complete a Form 100. No need to find the grand knight and financial secretary so they can sign it. No need to scan and email it to New Haven or (gasp!) put it in an envelope and mail it.
It’s easier. The online join application is very straightforward…we only ask for the information we truly need and – of course – for the applicant to attest that he is eligible for membership!
It’s more immediate. Once the applicant completes the application and clicks “Accept” on the email confirmation, he’s a member. No need to wait for an exemplification. No need to wait for the Supreme Council to process the transaction. He’s a member – that day!
It remains true that – for the vast majority of members – a local council provides the best membership experience. That’s why more than 80% of the men who join the Order online quickly attend an Exemplification of Charity, Unity & Fraternity and join a council. While that process is happening, though, the man is a member of the Knights of Columbus, and he and his family can take advantage of all the benefits that membership has to offer.
