Protecting Those We Serve

As Knights of Columbus, we recognize that all Catholics, including Brother Knights, share a responsibility to protect children and vulnerable persons served in and by the Catholic Church. Like the Church, the Knights of Columbus is committed to the protection of children and other vulnerable persons.

As Catholic men, Brother Knights live out their fatherhood, irrespective of whether they have children of their own, when we serve those entrusted to our care. In the words of our Supreme Knight: “Protecting our children is the sacred duty of every Knight.”

Safe Environment Program Best Practices
Before all programs, events, and activities in which minors are present, the Family Director and/or Community Director, along with the Grand Knight, shall call a short meeting of all volunteers participating in that activity sponsored by the council. All participating volunteers shall be provided with copies of these Safe Environment Best Practices.
