Shining Armor Award The Shining Armor Award program is designed for members of your council to engage in and maintain an active level of participation in council programs and activities. Shining Armor Brochure Shining Armor Brochure Honoring Deceased Brothers Councils and Assemblies should adopt resolutions of condolence for the families of deceased knights. These resolutions should be entered into the formal records of the council and delivered to the families upon the death of a member. Each council establishes a committee to recognize a deserving Family of the Month and Family of the Year with potential for recognition on the international level. Resources Resources Recognize Life Events and Milestones Another great way to engage members is to recognize life events and milestones. For example, sending a card or email wishing a member “Happy Birthday” or “Happy Anniversary” (for his membership anniversary) is a great engagement strategy. You can similarly recognize the other life events of a member such as graduation, wedding, birth of a child or retirement. You can also recognize the sacramental milestones of a member’s children such a Baptism, First Communion, Confirmation or Marriage.
